Misc Using drugs on anti-depressents? Cipralex (Escitalopram)

Using drugs on anti-depressants?

I usually take 10 mg of Cipralex at nightime, and am wondering, what are the effects if I take a psychedelic or a stimulant. I am talking about taking it not with the anti-depressant, but on the night I am suppose to take the anti-depressant, and wait until the next day to take the anti-depressant, so the two drugs don’t combine. Would there still be effects of both drugs, since the Cipralex would still be in my system (since anti depressants stay in your system for a good length of time) I have drank alcohol (without taking cipralex that night) and was fine the next day, and just took the Cipralex the following night. So my question is, since the Cipralex is in my body(but not the the extent of taking the pill), is it safe to do other drugs? Such as MDMA, Mushrooms, Cocaine, Cannabis, ect..

They mention Citalopram (Celexa, Cipramil,Seropram) [23-75 hours]. I am on Escitalopram, which I guess is a newer version. So I would say it would still be in the same category. Am I right or wrong?

I take escitalopram myself (20 mg once daily), but I take it in the morning. I am also on methadone (130 mg/day) and the reason I was given escitalopram was because my doctor said that it has very little interactions with any drugs. I also get prescribed alprazolam (1 mg 3x a day), Seroquel (100 mg at bedtime), and dextroamphetamine 5 mg tablets (I take 10 mg in the morning, 10 mg afternoon, 5 mg in the evening).

I think you should be ok if you're going to be using opiates, benzos, amphetamines, or cocaine.

MDMA wouldn't work well, at least from what I gather after people combine it with MDMA.

It's the S isomer of citalopram.

Hence why they called it Escitalopram; "Es" includes a S-citalopram slurred together, whereas "scitalopram" would be phonetically pronounced the same as "citalopram".

Yes, taking MDMA along with it may be a bad idea because it may cause serotonin syndrome.

But for the most part, escitalopram is free of any major interactions.
 
i was on lexapro (escitalopram) when i was 13 (they thought i was depressed so they put me on an anti depressant thinking it would help but turned out i was bipolar and i was in a manic state for almost a year because i was forced to take it every morning bofore school, i am on the right meds now and am gonna be 23.. jeeze it's been 10 years?? where the fuck has time gone? anywho..) but those were some of the best times of my life (mostly because i had a kid at 15 and i had to stop being a kid myself, but..) i took acid, drank VERY heavily on it because for some reason they make you able to handle more alcohol or make you crave it once you start drinking, and i would smoke an ounce of weed a week and pop percs like candy.. never had anything bad happen to me and i was in a manic state the whole time,, so i think everything's relatively safe besides MDMA cuz that fucks with serotonin.
 
SSRIs (such as escitalopram) will stop MDMA from working properly.. it wouldn't be dangerous..
 
I was thinking the exact thing HdoubleODeezy. I can drink a 26er to my face of vodka no problem without puking, since I took this anti-depressent, and for me to drink that much normally is a lot. But my doctor said it would usually make me feel the alcohol more. But I am getting the opposite effect. Weird
 
I've been on this medication in the past, for a couple of years; after not getting the results I'd hope, I then switched to Effexor.
Anyway, I took--as wrong as it may have been--both MDMA and cocaine on separate occasions along with small amounts of alcohol and cannabis and had no problems, and no interference with euphoria. I am not recommending repeating this, but just reporting that I have done it with no weird post-experience effects.
