Opioids US Citizen buying Codeine in canada.

I am a US citizen, and have heard that Codeine <= 10mg can be purchased OTC. So if there are any canadians here that could help answer a few questions I have before embarking in a journey. (Especially if you live near the MI, US border... I am not aware if different "districts" of canada have different policies regarding this.)

1. Using a MI, US Drivers licence (being a US citizen) can one purchase the codeine not being a citizen of canada, and furthermore will I be asked for ID?
2. Where can I purchase said item... Do only certain stores offer it?
3. Dosage/Pricing information please, and thank you.
4. Obviously (at least I think), transporting the said package back to the US would be illigeal. So, having never left the country, what in general is a border crossing like? Just wondering.

Well I cant say for shur. But if you go to a nice small pharmacy I cant picture you having any problems. Unless you are under 18,
or exhibit any type of drug seeking behaviour. The max is 8mgs.
