Upper right pain even after CWEing codeine

EDIT: I was 50% certain that either my liver or one of my kidneys were somewhat complicated in all this. I guess it just goes to show how tolerant the human body is. In conclusion to my dull pain in the right abdomnial side, it most certainly is an individual, bodily response... I just cant explain it in any other way.

Still doesn't meant it's not liver pain. I've read people can have 50% of their liver destroyed via scarring and still have a perfectly normal liver function test. I get the same pain as you described and it has to be the liver as the only other time I get that pain is when I go on a drinking bender, after about 7 days I get the same pain in the same place.

I'm aware of stomach and gut pain & know the sensation and location, and it's not that. I think it has to be liver pain as the location is the liver. Only thing different between the pain with drinking and CWE is that alcohol related pain lasts longer and it often will turn into a throbbing pain that pulsates with heartbeat. With CWE it stays as a dull pain and I haven't yet felt the pulsating pain.

^ That's OK, I'm doped up right now so am not thinking so clearly either. :)

I'd like to know some more about your experience with the ulcer, if you'd like to elaborate. Did the symptoms gradually build up over time as it became worse, or did the pain come on quite suddenly?

I've read a few cases (in the news... and Cosmo) of people who were abusing straight N+ suddenly experiencing acute abdominal pain which was their first sign of the problem, in a few of these reports it was at the time that it perforated. However, my intuition tells me that before it becomes that severe you would notice it as the gastric lining is slowly eroded via the COX inhibition of ibuprofen. Pain that builds up over time.

i was abusing extacy for a year or so, 5-20 a weekend most weekends.
after said time i noticed i had a burning pain in my stomach (even after not taking drugs for around a month) that only wet away when eating foods that require little stomach acid poduction.
i was put on somac and it was all good in a few days and i layed off the pills.

then a few months later i ha 10 yellow tullips a blue snowflake and 2 green mitzis in one night.
the mitzis had glass in them wich created a wound and obviously didnt heal.
i was vomitin bial constantly for over 24 hours so went to the ER.

but if you get it from non drug induced causes, it will creep up and you will know its at the point it needs treatment.

as wit alot of symptoms/side effects, its the severe end of the scale the people talk about when describing a condition.
i was in bed for 2 weeks eating only natural items that were easy for my stomach to digest to aid in lower stomach acid production.
the nausea and stomach burning is a 9 out of 10, but yes it can creep up on you i its not a big hit.

its hard cause its easy to mis diagnos on a patient or DR behalf and will need an endoscopy to prove 100%

you can also get it from a certain bacteria, which can be harder to get rid of.

once i was on somac (used to lower stomach acid production) i was fine in a week and full recovered in a month.

sorry, post is muddled, on a combo of feel good meds lol

Its disturbing hearing you guys saying the liver may be scarred even though ALAT test is telling me the values are well within normal ranges. On the other side, Ive been doing a lot of different searches regarding liver scarring symptoms and none of them match.

We could prolly discuss this well into the next year. Like misk already pointed out, its undoubtedly a warning sign. Though how serious - thats the question...

Bobby, I wouldnt worry too much about what kinda liver functions results you'd get. IMO, since both MrBlondes and mine results where fine, I'd bet yours would be no different.

Misk, bobby and MrBlonde, your answers gave me a lil heads up. Thx.

Another cause of iron deficiency is loss of blood from internal bleeding such as from a stomach ulcer. What were your Red Blood Cell counts?

^ Thanks for the link Urbie.

That sort of reaction is very rare, I wonder if the lady taking 14.4 grams of ibuprofen a day also had a developing ulcer.
