What is the difference?? I like coke, I also love my weed/hash/oil/anything else weed related.

I have no idea what the meaning of up or down is in drug culture. Any help would be swell.
 
Uppers are stimulants, which stimulate you. Speed you up. Perk you UP.

Downers do the opposite, chill you out and slow you down.

Could you not figure that one out? o_O
 
Nah I could not, hence the reason for posting...

So then if coke is an upper, and weed is a downer... Why is my high with the two sometimes the same?

Some times, weed chills me the fuck out (same with coke) and some times it gets me hyper as fuck! o.O

And that is why I'm confused ladies and gents.
 
Coke isn't that pushy (well, in theory, who knows what the it's cut with does).

Weed can vary a lot. Thanks to people selectively breeding them you can get different strains with different ratios of cannaboids. Some are sedating, others are more psychedelic or stimulating.
 
Because weed isn't just a downer. It'll speed up your heart rate just like coke will (obv not to the same extreme) & good coke is (supposedly, never had quality coke.) kind of relaxing like quality Mdma! which is probably why it felt similair. Don't forget weed is a mild pshycadelic too. :)

its because upper is slang for CNS Stimulant, or central nervous system stimulant. Even though you might feel "chill" on cocaine, Your heart rate elevates, etc.

Downers is slang for CNS Depressants. They slow down your heart rate, breathing, etc.

Uppers sometimes "chill" people with ADD out. I would not call pot an "upper" or "downer".

Perhaps some benzos, barbitiuates, alcohol, opiates, ghb etc would be "downs"

Uppers would be "caffiene, meth, adderall, coke, etc."

Marijuana is a psychedelic, neither an upper or a downer.

Uppers are slang for CNS Stimulants (example: cocaine, methamphetamine, methylphenidate, caffeine, amphetamine, d-amphetamine) CNS Stimulants enhance the activity of the central and peripheral nervous systems. Increase blood pressure and heart rate.

Downers are slang for CNS Depressants (example: benzodiazepines, barbiturates, alcohol, GHB)
CNS Depressants temporarily reduce the function or activity of a specific part of the body or mind known as GABA. Slow heart rate and breathing.
