That's my previous thread where you'll see my story about my past. To sum up my addiction I was on about 160mg of oxy a day and when my girlfriend got arrested we decided to get clean. I have absolutely no cravings for opiates nor desire to do them again..I like having money I was able to buy a brand new gaming PC and a nice apartment in a better part of town. My girlfriend went to court and is in out-patient until December and the charges go away.

She is now on the suboxone program and shares with me. I've been taking 1mg a day for about 3 months now (I'm just over 3 months clean) and she's been on 2mg. Some of my fears on this are that I am now addicted to suboxone or I will withdraw bad when I want off, I hope someone with experience can elaborate on this.

Another problem is she had to smoke marijuana while I continue to. I love marijuana, it helps with not dong opiates, gives me appetite (i lost so much weight on pills) and ive been smoking for close to 5 years (im 24). My girlfriend now has weekly drug tests until December. I've been trying to curb down my use and the smell because I imagine it's hard for her but have ultimately been failing.

Wow, that's amazing. Good for you! You definitely have something to be proud of, both of you.

I actually went through some similar shit, I was also addicted to oxy. Toward the end of about a year of everyday use I was supplementing that with 200mg morphines and black tar heroin which made the withdrawal process that much more lovely of course ;)
I decided to quit on my own, I realized that I was miserable even while taking oxy and that my drug use had gotten out of control since taking a job that required 60 hours a week and constant stress. So I quit the job and the habit. Other than a few benzos the first two days I actually quit cold turkey. It was AWFUL, looking back I really wish I'd done a taper. I also didn't go the subs route because I don't want any of that on my record.

That's great that subs were effective for you. But yes, when you stop taking them you will have withdrawal. Not as severe as oxy but it lasts a long time. I hear about a month? You should definitely taper. Switch down to .5 daily then every other day. Whatever is more comfortable for you. Try and get some benzos to have on hand just in case of any major discomfort. There are other legal supplements and OTC drugs you can take as well.

How do you feel mentally and physically? My back and neck seem to hurt constantly even though I quit in April. And I still don't have my energy back. The first two months were some of the worst in my life so far, I was in such a funk. I didn't leave my house for days. It felt like I was stuck in a rut I couldn't climb out of.
