Each in it's place
the thoughts run through my mind at a rate,
silver lining is hiding today
maybe beneath the clouds
maybe beneath your grin
last night never looked that way before
every moment seemed to devour the next
it's like it never happened at all
....and today i'm trying to sort out the pieces
put them each in there place
it draws such a beautiful yet terrifying close
to know I can be so lethal
to know you can be so vain
I only have to go through the motions
sleep walking through the day
to awake when it would be time to fall asleep
paint a picture of you next to me
watch the sun rise
people start to crowd the streets
coffee and small talk
I try to keep my eyes open
not wanting to miss a moment
sitting beside myself
this is it's own decision
time has no grasp on the present
it all seems a little brighter now
if I can only keep the bits and pieces
and I smile to myself
because these are things I only know...
to be aware of where I am
to know that you can be here to
I am not afraid anymore
to know I can erase it if I just try hard enough
if I believe that I can change
to realize I am on my way
each path it's own
my dreams on paper
and you never knew
......that I wrote them for you
a part of me I covered gracefully
a part of you you never knew existed
to realize who you are without me
to realize who you are with me
and know that we're better off together
to know that there is always another part of yourself... that is it's own silver lining

My god woman, this work brings back so many memories! It makes me think about all those people who played the part of the guy to whom you are talking to here.

If i had a dollar for everytime i have awoken feeling like wihtout my one speical person i would burst into a million little pieces and be scattered to the winds, i think i'd be able to buy myself a new car...
But the best line by far is this:

That stings! I know how it stings and believe me, it will pass - although it sounds like you know that already.
