Authors note:if anything I say here offends you as a Christian then just dont read it, I wrote this from my personal oppinion, not to be offensive, so please dont blast me if you feel Ive offended your religious sensebilities. Thanks :) luv'n'hugs for all :D
Today a man yelled at me because I said I was an athiest
"When you receive Gods judgement youll go straight to hell!!"
I just looked at him and smiled and walked away
Dont you think Id like to have your blind faith?
Dont you think Id be happier if I could beleive there was a plan?
Dont you think Id like to trust that this is for a reason?
Dont you think Id beleive if I could?
But the sad fact is Ive seen no evidence of god
Ive seen human greed and violence and betrayal
Ive seen all of this and worse
In the church that claims its pure in Gods eyes
So what, you may ask, made me smile as I walked away?
It was a smile of pity for every blind fool.
Pity that in your last moment of existance, just as you die
While Im exalting that Ive been freed from this pain
Youll be lamenting your nonexistant paradise
My last moment will be one of joy
Yours will be one of sadness
And for this I trully pity you.

Agreed on the atheism (tho I'm more of an agnostic), but not agreed on the freedom from pain bit...
But nicely written tho :)
We're seriously gonna havta meet one of these days...

the "freedom from pain" bit comes from my beleif that there is nothing after you die.I dont beleive in reincarnation or heaven or hell or anything else, except that we go back to where we came from, from nothing to nothing.
yeah maybe we should meet up one day...

well expressed...
a favorite:
"I understand," Paneloux said in a low voice. "That sort of thing is revolting because it passes our human understanding. But perhaps we should love what we cannot understand."
Rieux straightened up slowly. he gazed at Paneloux, summoning to his gaze all the strengh and fervor he could muster against his weariness. Then he shook his head.
"No, Father. I have a very differnt idea of love. And until my dying day I shall refuse to love a scheme of things in which children are put to torture." -- Albert Camus The Plague
