unsure about a few combinations

im prescribed zoloft and was wondering

are there any interactions with theseV (and are there interactions between DXM and Diph?)
Codeine (i need 700mg to feel an alright effect)
Diphenhydramine
DXM

DXM is definitely a DANGEROUS idea with an SSRI like Zoloft, and many can testify to that. Diphenhydramine, I'd think okay to take in normal therapeutic doses (25 mg - 50 mg) even if on Zoloft, but am NOT sure 100 %. I'd suggest no codeine, or if you want, codeine. SSRI's tend to blunt the effects of opiates a good deal for a lot of people - if you already need 700 mg codeine, I would be worried about going much higher in that, and you might not feel enough for your taste at 700 mg. Even that is a lot of codeine, and I do hope you are doing a CWE (cold water extraction) and not consuming loads of pills with APAP, ASA, or an NSAID of some sort - that can lead to serious issues. Just be careful, and make sure you are being safe with that. Really, though, AVOID DXM at all costs when on Zoloft. As for mixing diphenhydramine and DXM, if you were not taking Zoloft, I would still advise against it, esp. higher than normal therapeutic doses of diphenhydramine, but still diphenhydramine has a more narrow therapeutic index than a lot seem to think - don't fuck with diphenhydramine unsafely or in high doses. But, no I would not mix DXM with diphenhydramine under any circumstances.

well your going to hate me for this but before i read your post, i had 60mg of DXM is that anything to be concerned about?

ill lay off codeine while on ssri and just use benadryl therepeutically

ill remember not to mix dxm and benadryl

yeh i always CWE i hate the thought of someone unknowingly ingesting like 6 grams of ibuprofen or paracetamol just not thinking about how much that will fuck them

not really any signs of SS at T+2:00 just a heavier heartbeat and didnt really feel the effects of DXM

still was silly but i thought such a low dose wouldnt hurt

SS is rare as hell man. I've slammed 60mg of adderall d/l IR's, 30mg of Lunesta and drank a 8ml bottle of tussin and was still good.

You'll be alright just enjoy the dxm.

This is almost BY FAR the most ignorant post I have ever seen on BL. Fucking good for you that you survived that dangerous mix of drugs, and lived to tell some very bad advice on a public harm REDUCTION forum.

OP, don't take DXM on an SSRI. Seritonin Syndrome is not something you want to go through.

That's hardly a recipe for disaster for Serotonin Syndrome. Generally some sort of SSRI has to be thrown into the mix.

In almost every case of SS some sort of serotonergic was included (SSRI/tramadol/5-htp). DXM or any sort of MAOI will result in almost guaranteed SS symptoms, to some degree.

Adderall is not high on the list of causing SS. DXM/SSRI/MAOI are much more inclined to when combined.

To the OP, I just want to let you know that just because you were fine this time, does not mean you would be the next (and hopefully there is not a next) even if the dose of DXM were lower than the 60 mg you took. You must remember that.
