Had a surgery on a body part. Uh. Was rxed 2.5% hydrocortisone cream to reduce swelling, which I used religiously for two months. Towards the end of that period I started to experience a few unpleasant effects:
- nausea and extreme sedation when using even small amounts of cannabis, which never happened before
- apparent laryngitis/voice cracking, lost the upper octaves of my vocal range which is still recovering. Not sure if this was an infection or a direct effect?
- general exhaustion/stress, falling asleep for hours in the afternoon, not focused on work
At the beginning of this week I missed a couple applications because I had to work long hours and I tried smoking weed on Tuesday afternoon and the nausea was gone. So I stopped the hydrocortisone completely and wow I feel so much better. Apparently this is not unheard of:

I probably had it worse than the average person using it for eczema because I was applying it to a mucus membrane (I had a hemorrhoidectomy). But I am still surprised by how strong the depressive effect was from an "external" medication.
I'm not sure if I really have a question. I just hope my voice gets back to normal.
