Underage drinking

Personally i think that children should be allowed to drink at a younger age around their parents. I feel that if parents bring their children up to learn to respect alcohol and shown that it can be taken often without major consequences or without going wild or binging. This way when the child reaches to age at which they are allowed to drink it will not be such a big deal to them.

I did some underage drinking last night. Started drinking every couple of weekends when I was 14-15 then I quit until the end of my junior year till now. I am 17 now and I will be going to college in 15 days or so. So I will obviously be doing some more underage drinking in college. I should have an associates and bachelors in computer networking by the time i'm 21!! 8)

I was first drunk when i was 14.. I think
didn't drink much except at partys here and there now its legal so it really doesn't matter.
Never got into it though, its more of a social thing then drinking for fun.
I would never get drunk alone its just not my thing

Drinking age here in good old England is 18.

I started drinking at about 15, got a bit sick of drinking in fields and throwing up with people I didn't really like, so gave up and stuck to weed.

Started again later on, I'm 17 now, still drink quite a bit, my parents don't mind and occasionally buy booze for me/sit up with me if I'm sick ^^;;

(I have a fear of vomiting..)

But yeah. Roll on next August. Then I can drink in pubs without being scared of getting thrown out

I'm from an Israeli family, and when i was 13, my parents pretty much said to me, 'your a man now, if you ever want to get alcohol we can get it for you.' I think this approach works very well, because although i'll have a couple of drinks at many social occasions, i've only gotten drunk to the point of stumbling and puking a few times since then, and i'm 17

Well I can only say the opposite. I was allowed to drink from 15. Maybe beaucse I rarely drink with my ma and da.

I got started late. . . I drank small amounts of alcohol at meals with the family since age 12 or so, but I only got drunk for my first time at age 16, though I quickly moved to regular drinking before half a year had passed.

i'm 17 and started two years ago with just stuff around the house, like baily's irish cream and just stuff that tasted good with milk. i hate reg. beer i just dont' have a taste for it. but last year in track i met this girl and her dad would buy us alcohol whenever, it was great. then when i go to parties people know somone older who scored it for them. i went to europe last year as well and my mom let me drink whenever. i think placing an age restriction makes alcohol more inviting to younger people and it makes them want to drink more. now that i've done it, it's not a big deal.

Im a good old typical british teen drinker.
I think having to be 21 SUCKS!
I would have never been able to cope with that.
Im only 17 and already drinking is pretty much a big part of my life.

The very first time I was "hammer" was when I was 14 and I loved it. Then came the drama. Second time I was fully inebreated was a horrible experience. Vomitting and what not. Plus, I was drinking hard alocohol, which didn't add much fun. Set me off alocohol for sometime. Then, about 1/2 a year of very little drinking (probably got buzzed once,) My brother brought me to a college party and like some college parties, beer was plentiful. About an hour and 7 beers later, you find my drunk asss passed out on a couch. Kinda set me off of beer too. I like it more than hard alocohol, but still I could live with out it. Then came the faithful day I found wine. I love wine and it is the only alocohol I will drink today. MAn, that was boring
