Not really a poem, but i was having a discussion with a freind last night and got really pissed off when he started calling some of my favourite bands sell outs.
Just a bit of a statement about popular music.

It's only cool to like a band
If they are not popular.
As soon as more than
Five people start talking about band
They are not cool anymore.
The hypocrites who believe this are
The very people that cause their
Favorite bands to 'sell out'
By listening to them
And buying records
And T-shirts
If they believed this nonsense
They wouldn't listen to the bands
They actually liked to stop them from
Becoming popular enough for some
Teenager to write the bands name
On his pencil case.
The record companies who
Promote the real 'sell outs'
Are laughing with glee.
As the independent bands
Who are the only competition
For the genetically engineered
Teen trash and boy bands
Get shafted by their own fans.
Support your favorite band or artist by not listening to them.
