POLICE targeting so-called legal highs have called on St Austell traders who sell them to own up.

Police and trading standards officers have joined forces to tackle the illegal sale of the intoxicating substances. In October the Cornish Guardian's Bodmin edition revealed the danger they pose to users' health, describing how young people in the town had been hospitalised after snorting so-called bath salts which were freely on sale. Five Bodmin teenagers required hospital treatment after taking a substance marked as bath salts, which contain a powerful amphetamine substitute. Nationally, consumption of legal highs has been linked to seven deaths.
"It's the responsibility of our trading standards staff to enforce product safety and product labelling laws, and these laws can be used to stop the supply of such products. "Cornwall Council Trading Standards is happy to be working with the police to help prevent the supply of these products, particularly where children may be able to access them freely."

With regards to the five hospitalised teenagers, what did their bath salts contain? MDPV? If this article is meant to serve as a warning, it'd be better at it if it actually said what specific drugs it's referring to.

What are they supposed to own up to exactly? The whole point is it's legal (unless they admit to selling for human consumption).

If they want legal high vendors, why aren't they raiding bars and gas stations?
