THE mum of a 16-year-old girl who died after taking ecstasy for the first time has spoken out in a bid to encourage other youngsters to stay away from drugs. Serena Harding, of Manchester Road, Rixton, died in Stockport on August 21 after collapsing in a park. She had taken a quarter of a gram of MDMA – a powdered form of ecstasy – after going to a party with friends.

"Television makes out like it is fashionable to take drugs, a right of passage, but no drug is safe."

Serena suffered from Crohn’s disease and rarely went to parties or drank. The illness caused her pain and fatigue and meant she had barely been out during the summer holidays.
The 16-year-old had taken pure ecstasy – known as MDMA – after going to a party in Reddish, Stockport, before collapsing.

Pure ecstasy known as MDMA? MDMA a powdered form of ecstasy? What? It most certainly would not have been pure and Im not sure what the difference between powdered form and tablet form of ecstasy really is other than you can snort it. Still anything you buy on the street can be a lovely mix of chemicals like powdered dick and apples.

How do you know that it was not JUST MDMA that killed her though? She may have had a rare reaction to the pill, drank too much water or a number of things. It already stated that she had a rare disease that ment she rarely went out and drank. Some people do have strange reactions to things sometimes you know. It was obvious the rest of the people that took the MDMA at the party were all fine wasnt it, it wasnt some sort of wierd research chemical or dirty batch of shit, it was MDMA, too hard to believe?

If she had Crohn’s disease, she was not supposed to eat milk or dairy, food rich in fiber, drink alcohol or smoke tobacco.

So taking ecstasy AND, having decided to, taking a quarter of a gram, was a really bad decision.

Also she may have been on a long term medication to treat the disease, which could have led or contributed to an inadvertent reaction.

I do not believe MDMA was only responsible for her death. I just found the reporting abit strange

Gotta remember that 1/4g is a fairly high dose for a small teenage girl with no tolerance and a pre-existing illness. If the MDMA was especially pure it could well have just put too much strain on her body.

Quoted for truth, what a retarded decision to make. I Have an epileptic friend, when he discovered he was epileptic he couldn't accept it. Went out and smashed a load of stimulants.

Long story short it took him nearly dying for him to learn, and sadly it took this girl dying for her to learn.

250mg is a high dose, but it's nowhere near overdose. She either died from something the pill was cut with, or due to a medical complication from her condition. She made a dumb decision. That's natural selection.
