UK: Ken Livingstone 'legalise ecstasy'

And I'm lacking credibility when i post a graph from wikipedia...but i think we get the general idea. MDMA is less harmful and less habit forming (in most people) then legal substances. That's all. May be that can be proved wrong in the right situations...but in general...I believe that simple statement to be true.

As for other drugs....you all probably know better than me. Haven't touched LSD or GHB. Probably won't either. :|

Sorry to drag it back to chavs,

edit : OFF TOPIC, LEAVE PICS FOR THE LOUNGE - Thanks

I especially like the one third from the left in the second picture.

On the side of chav, the word traditionally came from Romani's who would call their children that . I live right next to a town called Chatham in Medway England where there word first came into use as a label for people who wear certain clothes, it's all pretty petty in my eyes labeling people for their image anyway, but read here for more http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chav

Peace to all.

I was going to mention that, but as I quite often do, I'll instead add that "mush" (as in "Oi! Mush!") is also Romany - it means my man, my husband, my lover - that sort of thing. Funny how Romany words seem to have their meanings inverted when brought into common English usage...

Anyway, on with the Livingstone thing...

I love Boris Johnson, he's great for a laugh. But I try to take nothing he says seriously.

The man rarely finishes a sentence without putting hit foot in his mouth, or just generally looking like a dick.

I love how this turned from a reasonably serious discussion of legalization into a definition of chavs for the Americans and a chat about what happened on Jeremy Kyle yesterday morning.

Fatalities do not tell the whole story, I am against legalisation of MDMA but penalties should be reduced significantly. MDMA is IMO a very harmful drug and should be kept away from easy access routes. Other drugs should definitely be legalised though.

im not against legalization of MDMA, i dont know the guy would reference "ecstasy" rather than the chemical name.

before legalization can happen there has to be a legitimate long term study of neurotoxic effects. all the study's published seem to be flawed in one way or another.

once an accurate study is completed, then decide on legalization based on some decent results.

dont get me wrong though. i love x so im all for it, but studies still have to occur.

Perhaps we can do a long term study of alcohol's effects on the human brain as well and once an accurate study is completed, then decide on the legalization on some decent results. Oh wait, there already is mountains of evidence that alcohol atrophies brain tissue in the long term... so again why is it legal?

Let's get real here. Any drug that is illegal and is in demand will naturally emerge in the black market. Black markets are not regulated, they are tainted, and they operate with impunity. If it's legal, it can be controlled, the dosages can be verified to be pure, and the taxes collected by the sales of these substances can be used to educate people on the pros and cons of use so they can decide.

Really it only seems far out but it's not.

what profession?

soon to be a anesthesiologist. I believe if E is used moderately with the right pre-cautions taken that people can roll have a good time and not be a e tard. However on the other hand it can be a little devil for people who get a little to into it and end up rolling like every weekened.

I'm just saying E is one of those drugs you dont want to do more then once a month. Plus when you do e All of your serotonin and dopamine is released into your brain. I mean it is a surg of serotonin. There for it takes time for your body to get it's levels back up. So Moderation is key is what i'll leave it at. Also make sure it's pure mdma. I dont know I guess some people like a little speed in there pills. Like those pills that are purple and have the "glitter' on the outside hahaha.

Well I don't think for one sec that Ken is going to try to legalise E (not mentioning the fact that he's standing for Mayor of London, which means he's got no national legislative power). But wouldn't it be funny if E was legal and cannabis wasn't??

At any rate, I'll be voting Ken on 1 May, if only for the fact that he's a green-leaning leftfield eccentric :)
