But pills are becoming incredibly shit over here too. Can't hurt any alternatives wanting to make a breakthrough.

They are? Ive only known them to be shit (piperzine) pills for a 4month drought season last year/this year. Loads of good pills now ;)
 
It'll be interesting to see how crystal meth does in the UK. Australia is currently in the grips of an "epidemic" so the media here calls it.

While culturally closer to the UK, one of the interesting differences is that Australia has not seen the sort of downturn in ecstasy use seen in the UK nor a significant drop in the price (and increased availability) of cocaine that's been experienced over there. On the other hand, crystal meth, or ice as it's commonly called here, has developed into a problem over the same time (last say five years).
 
I seriously doubt crystal meth will rise to the levels of abuse that crack and heroin did, I've spoke to many crack users to see if they would buy meth and all of them said no, wierdly enough the reason they gave me was that the high lasts to long :/
 
big big problem in california. Mexico keeps trying to give it to us and poeple keep accepting the offer....
 
I hope meth use is reduced worldwide... way too many people cannot use it responsibly. It's a serious detriment to society.

Here's a google trends graph of the mentions of meth vs cocaine in the news in the UK. I used "meth" instead of "methamphetamine" because the latter yielded too few results.

Based solely on the plot, it looks like there has been a long-term increase in meth use in the past 3 or 4 years, but has been relatively constant for the past year.
 
Methamphetamine has been in Europe for years but most people seem to prefer normal amphetamine. The extra methyl group & the salt (the hydrochloride) mean that it can be smoked much more easily. What has caused the upshoot is that the simple preparation of methamphetamine from (pseudo)ephedrine has been embraced. Plain amphetamine is made via P2P and requres a higher level of skill...
