Hi All,

As we know, the market is now flooded with loads of different SSRIs.

I'm thinking about changing to a more 'stimulating' SSRI since my depression causes me a lot of fatigue and tiredness. Does anybody have some kid of chart that will show me the main differences in effect between the common SSRIs?

I've been told that Fluoxetine/Prozac is considered to be very stimulating so this just got me curious. I currently take Sertraline/Zoloft and was thinking about asking for Wellbutrin/Buproprion to be added to it, as I've heard it can be quite stimulating.

At the moment I'm currently taking a lot of Ethylphenidate to perk me up throughout the periods of Fatigue/Tiredness - which I really don't lie, but it works really wellll

Thanks,

Rybee x

If you're looking for stimulation, perhaps an NRI/norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor would be something to ask about or look into. The wellbutrin could be worth a shot, but not if you've ever had a seizure IMO. It can take a lot of trial and error and also be more difficult to tell what works with other drugs in the mix.

I don't think you'll find a definitive answer to your question rybee. SSRI's act so similarly to each other that differences in perceived effects probably depend as much on the person taking the drug as on the drug itself.

Have you considered that rebound effects off of the ethylphenidate might contribute to your fatigue? I'm guessing that your problem runs deeper than that but in the long run the ethylphenidate might do more harm than good.

Also if you're not aware Bupropion and Ethylphenidate have very similar mechanisms of action, so I would try not to combine them if you go down that route.

Bupropion is a good anti depre that stimulates me as well as prozac.
Resperidal also helps me with my depre as it stimulates but it's classified as and atypical anti psychotic, keep in mind this is me it may affect you differently
