Survive it and if inclined help people survive theirs. Lately I've had the attitude that life happens, everyone to their own fate. Perhaps because we've been through so much with the loss of our house, the struggle with insurance and multiple setbacks getting our house to the point in which we can move back inside.

To a cynic it might acceptable to let everyone deal with whatever life throws at them but to a humanitarian who knows life is hard and unfair will on occasion give of himself/herself to share the load. It doesn't take much to care, it's a matter of choice what you are willing to sacrifice of yourself for another being, this includes all living beings not just humans.

It has been hard living under the conditions my wife, I and our pets have endured these past 16 months, however, the main thing is we survived to live another day. No matter what happens in life it is just life and only as a big a deal as you make it out to be. No one is special, we are born, we live and we die. There is nothing more simpler than that. If you think you deserve better in life then do something about it, no matter how many changes you make in life you will always be the person you are.

I can be bitter or I can use my experience to have compassion and empathy for everyone who struggles in life. not really adversity is key to survival if we cannot survive we don't deserve to live. Ultimately, we all die so what's the big deal? Humanism teaches the importance of life and living, I beg to differ, death is every bit as important as life, but for those who experience death do not come back to the living to share their experience with us, death remains unknown and full of speculation.

I welcome death as a place of rest and refuge from the life I live.
