Two Swedish guys die from methedrone overdose

The only good thing that could possibly come from RC's is that there's just way too many drugs for the cops to handle and all the safe drugs are legalised.

I mean, soon there's gonna be 100's of different RC's that become popular, I don't think the government or the cops can handle that.

Wanna bet?! They'll just use it as an excuse to ban everything! By default, everything will be illegal unless they say it's not. A bit like the application of Napoleonic code... ie: Guilty until proven innocent.

The Swedes should do the sensible thing, learn from this, and relegalize preludin in the interest of harm reduction. MMT could stand for something else in Sweden: Methamphetamine Maintenance Therapy. Unfortunately, the Swedes have a historical propensity for favoring a heavy prohibitionist approach to drug policy. This includes legal drugs like alcohol- I believe that Sweden along with alot of their Scandinavian neighbors (the Danes being a notable exception), went dry for a period in their history and excercise heavy controls or taxes on liquor. This outlook pervades a thick cross section of Swedish society. Apparently at some state function, somewhere, a dipolomat managed to offend the Queen of Sweden by mentioning the benefits of harm reduction. Yet after all these years of heavy handed drug policies, the Swedes still love their speed, and on drinking occasions let there Viking origins take over.

Oh god, our queen upset? I hope she didn't give him a slap.

Yep, this is Sweden vs drugs. Drugs dont belong to us culturally except for alcohol ofc, so everything else is seen as the devils work.

It's still a mystery to me why swedes like speed so much. Its a straightforward stim with nothing special to it. Except for when IVing.

Where oh where did I say people don't die from ODing on more common drugs?

The point I was trying to make is that RCs are relatively *new* and they haven't been around long enough that people should be so reckless with them, even if they make you feel like a million bucks (at first).

At least the common street stimulants -have- been around long enough that there's much more documentation concerning them.

Edit - I am by no means advocating choosing cocaine or meth over RCs (they all have their dangers), but with RCs it's really iffy because we don't know well enough (compared to the more common stims) what they do to the human body.

Edit 2 - Sorry to ramble and go off topic, but stuff like this makes me wanna stick to alcohol, weed and pharms. Anyway I'll shutup now.

Stay Safe :)

What about what people thought of as "RC's" for the most part just a few years back? Almost all of the psychedelic phen and trypts were drastically safer than alcohol and pharms for sure. Besides a few that had a handful of deaths from combos and being MAOI's, I would take what is sold to me from a pretty trusted (although purity might not be verified) vendor as 4-aco-dmt, 5meo-dmt, 2c-i, etc. over pharms and alcohol for their safety profiles.

Compare the stats on the amount of people who die or ruin their life from alcohol and amp + opiate pharms (no judging, I drink reasponsibly some times and use adderall every once in a while) and any non-tweaky/fiending/cath/amp RC that has not just come out of the blue recently and I can assure you users to death, addiction, OD ratio will be drastic.

I shouldn't have said anything about alcohol in my post as I almost never drink anymore and yes it is really toxic to your liver and causes a very large amount of deaths.

Tobacco too, big killer, I know.

As far as 4aco/5meo/2ci go, I can't comment on them because I've never tried them.

Comparing an older drug to a newer one, I'd be careful with how you make the comparisons. Ratios would be best and nothing else (that I can think of).

The point I was trying to make with my previous post was that we don't know much about recent RCs and so we should be careful especially when combining them with other drugs because of the lack of documentation available. One example I can think of is naphyrone. How long did it take for us to discover it's a carcinogen? I suppose I may have come across the wrong way.

It's pharms too btw. (Taken from Wikipedia) A recent analysis of both U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) data and clinical trial data shows that nonbenzodiazepine Z-drugs at prescribed doses cause an increased risk of developing cancer in humans. When I was first prescribed Imovane (Zopiclone) for insomnia back in 2005 this data wasn't available and I'm kinda pissed off about it because I've taken a lot of Imovane over the past 5 years.
