tv: Whats your favorite episode of the X Files?

Yes, that episode rocked - considering how different the characters acted in GENERAL. I guess that the name of the town, Comity, means something - I forget what I will have to look it up- but it was indicative of how everybody started treating each other, ie very rude and unlike their characters :D IE Scully SMOKING and pacing in herroom, and Mulder drinking! LOL! That was pretty funny.
 
Does anyone own any of the X-Files DVD sets? Good/bad? Extras? I watched this show religiously back in the day, and would love to own some of the seasons on DVD.
 
my friend does, and i borrowed them all from her to watch them. i am on season 7 now. I would buy them if I could afford to. When I CAN afford them I definitely will!
 
i've got all of them except for season nine, and they're not bad. the transfer is pretty fantastic, though the extras are quite lacking - generally there are only a few commentaries per entire season. still, they're pretty cheap atm, so are worth picking up for sure.
 
i just saw the one called exclusios dei about the chink guy who grew mushrooms and fed them to these old people in a rest home, i liked it cause the old people was constantly tripping with these dead people.
 
I just watched "Field Trip" I don't know how I missed this episode! OMG! It's the one Blowmonkey mentioned earlier in the thread.. Mulder and Scully get trapped in a giant mushroom on a mountain.

The one about the high school whose teachers are members of a satanic cult and the biology teacher turns into a snake or some shit. That was a good one.

I own all 9 seasons now and what it really comes down to I guess is if you enjoyed the show enough to want to own it and spend the money.

The Extras for each season are alright (I think there should have been a bit more for each), mainly being a 20-30 minute documentary on each season plus some other things like how some of the special effects were done. Deleted scenes of course are there and besides that there is a few promo ads for each episode that were aired on TV. Nothing really to write home about, but better than nothing...

The first season has a computer game on the last dvd player but I don't have dvd drive in my computer so can't tell you what it is like.

I would have purchased the dvd sets even if they didn't contain any extras, just on the strength of the show so I am fairly happy with them.
 
I really liked the episode where the healing man is wanted by Cigarette Smoking Man and Mulder finds his sisters clone working at a farm.

I liked the one with the green fluorescent microscopic spiders in the forest, and the one with the AI using satellite laser to attempt killing mulder& scully.
Also liked the few "autoparodic" ones.

Yeah all episodes with Cigarette Smoking Man are great. The actor also wrote that episode too. Also I found out he is an advocate for the Canadian Cancer Society and smoked herbal cigarettes throughout the show.
 
The old episodes are by far supperior to the new peices of shit they pushed out in 2003-2004. I especially liked the episode where the newly migrated asian dude was feeding all the old people in a nursing home psychedelic mushrooms which not only were strongly hallucinogenic but also beneficial to fighting alzeimers, all the old people started improving! I loved the asian dudes excuse, I just them to the residents to 'make them feel better'. :) I just hope i'm lucky enough to have an old asian guy to feed me mushrooms when i'm in a nursing home... Anyways all the people who had died there in the past started coming back to life but only to the people who had eaten the shroomies could see them. It turns out that the hospital had been murdering people and the spirits that came back were angry about that so they terrorized the help. It was great.
