I hadn't watched this show until the night of the finale. I was aware of it, but I dislike reality shows in general, and this one is really bottom of the barrel.

I want to see a followup in about 3 years. I want to know:

1 - How many leave their husbands. I'm guessing 100 percent. Some of the guys apparently deserve it, others who stuck by their "ugly" wives are gonna get shafted.

2 - How many enter new lifestyles and end up with cocaine problems and such.

3 - How many spiral into horrible depressions after gaining 5 pounds.

They've believed their whole lives that being attractive would make everything better. At least for now it seems to be true. As a result, their entire self-worth is going to be connected to their look, and beauty fades. Plastic beauty fades quicker.

Those women never did deal with their pasts, and issues don't magically disappear.

I really think this show will destroy more than a few of them.

I saw the pageant, or part of it, on the finale, I guess it was. I had no idea of the show really except for that it existed..

I wonder how many will leave their husbands too. :) I can't say I'd blame the one who got cheated on - but she should have left him anyways.

Obviously the show's point was that you have to be attractive to have a happy life - so I'm sure a bad hair day or some new cellulite will cause them to run back to a plastic surgeon or go insane ;) :)

it'll definitely ruin more lives than improve in the long run

for some it will be the big pinnicle of their lives and then where do you go from there? no where but down

its a nice gift to someone... self respect and self esteem to some that never had it
if they get real internal esteem from it

I think it is getting worse with these reality T.V. shows. Whats next :"Survivor: Let's see if this 5 year old will be able to survive on a deserted island"

This show embodies all that is wrong with the world.

Which is why I watched it once, giggled, thought about how fucked over these folks lives will end up in 5-10 years, and then I started laughing.

Still won't watch it. It turns my stomach, the little bit that I did watch. I saw this clip where they told this poor girl "You're the only contestant to have gained weight since this started." and she starts crying.

She might have just blurted out: "Hey fattie, what another fat burger to get even more fat? Huh fattie?! HUH!?!?!?"

The reality tv show craze is dying. They're running out of ways to just shock us. Soon it won't be entertaining, and everyone will stop watching. We can "hope" for a return of crappy sitcoms like Friends or Will & Grace, in their place. :\
