There's nothing wrong with Reality TV as long as it's believable. For instance, people competing for a prize while the cameras are rolling is believable.
People saying things that make themselves look ridiculous and petty to millions of viewers isn't. Nor are people who have a histrionic fit every time something doesn't go their way.
This is why I tend to gravitate toward the reality shows that focus on competition, and leave the one's that focus on the relationships and personalities of the contestants. There is nothing more grating than watching an amateur actor/actress try to convince me of their sincerity. Just shutup and do something cool.
my neice has her own reality television show starting this month on The Learning Channel , she doing 13 episodes.

I admit that I watch pretty much all the VH1 reality shows. It's so pathetic it's interesting.
The more extreme reality shows go, the more people will watch. Everyone loves a train wreck no matter how much they say it's disgusting or stupid.
With all due respect... those "competitions" are NOT reality TV. They are game shows. The singing and dancing shows are talent shows.
Reality TV is cameras following people around as they live their lives without any scripting or creating of artificial circumstances.
