TV: Penn & Teller: Bullshit

i LOVE this show.

and every show is about 30% concentrated bullshit, it's hidden in between the solid nuggets of truth, sort of like a game you can play while watching.

i disagree with them sometimes. like their "conspiracies" episode, at one point penn said something like "looking for government conspiracies in 9/11 is insulting to the memory of the people who died bla bla bla" which i simply do not agree with. it's insulting to their memories to not ask hard questions about why they died. so i guess that was their "bullshit bullshit" episode :)

though i have to admit all of the people they did interview were crackpots.
 
I used to enjoy this show a lot until I started to notice that half of the shit they spew about other people's bullshit is bullshit in itself. The entire premise of the show is to choose a topic, root out all the people who "represent" that topic but are too dumb or nutty to convey their arguments succinctly, and voila the entire argument is "debunked." Still fun to watch though...just dont take anything they say at face value. They are just as full of shit as their hapless victims on the show.

"The Boy Scouts of America restricts scout membership and leadership opportunities to homosexuals and straight males who DON'T believe in God. According to the BSA, atheists and gays don't make good scouts or good role models. If the Boy Scouts of America were a privately funded group, it could discriminate against and hate anyone it damn well wanted to. But the Boy Scouts of America is dependent upon Federal, State and local government handouts. So, the BSA and their intolerance… are BULLSHIT!"

I saw the Boy Scouts one on monday, it was good, but my favorite was the Enviromental Activist one from the 1st season

They asked the spokeswoman from Greenpeace to sign a petition banning the use of Dihydrogen-monoxide(H20) saying that it was used in the production of styrofoam and other hazardouse materials.


And the bitch signed it, along with a few hundred people at the rally they went to.
