I personally don't really like the show. I gave it a shot and will probably even watch more. It just seems cheesy as hell. One thing I don't get though it why Mr. Baldwin is in there being 9 months sober?

yeah he did leave, i think he flipped out and left, and i think its because the porno chick was sending him nuddie pics and hes married and didnt want to get caught but thats what they may want you to think so im not sure

dr. drew is an asshole if you ask me. and stupid too. every fucking person he thinks is going to die because of drug use. and yes some will but not all of them. not every person who is addicted to drugs dies from them. and adderall is not dextro-METH-amphetamine :X it's only 63% d-amphetamine the rest is l-amphetamine in adderall. with dexedrine is all d-amphetamine, but neither has methamphetmaine in it, that is desoxyn fucking moron.

that girl that was with one of the guys (can't remember which one, maybe jeff) only wanted to go on the show to get some air-time she has no intention of getting clean (as seen when they told her she can be admitted in the building next door (that isn't being taped for TV) and she made it seem like being away from her b/f or husband or w/e was the reason she was reluctant which is BS because everyone knows in rehab you can have interaction with anyone of the opposite sex besides "hello", etc.)

and the american idol girl who was on geodon and adderall , dr. drew IMMEDIATELY said no adderall. even tho she probably (and i dont think she was) abusing it, and she even said it CALMS her down (classic sign of someone with ad(h)d, a CNS stimulant calming intead of being speedy) i hate when doctors automatically think any drug like ritalin/adderall MUST be taken away if someone abuses other drugs (coke, opiates, etc, even if they don't abuse the adderall/ritalin). and i hate how dr. drew thinks all benzos that people use are addictions when in reality VERY few people who use benzos for medical purposes become addicts (they just get dependent and have tolerance, which are two different things than addiction/abuse).

and it was strange how the first girl (the model) said she's an opiate addict and takes a ton of opiates and pops of fucking piece of suboxone... and says "its like heroin" .... i hate suboxone and if i had the choice between that or a REAL full mu-opioid agonist it wouldn't even be a question... she doesn't seem like that much of an addict (opiate wise) to me... whereas jeff is taking now 360mg of oxycontin a day! damn... don't get why hes not on suboxone/methadone....

and why the fuck is gary busey there? 13 years clean IMO is clean. not an addict anymore. if you tell him he's an addict then in his brain he'll be more likely to have a relapse IMO. i dont like dr. drew's opinion about that he's still in recovery, thats AA/NA bullshit if you ask me.

I don't expect very many of you to believe me but I was inpatient at the rehab that doctor drew works at as a physician, "Las Encinas" in Pasadena (not the "Celebrity Rehab", thats filmed at the Pasadena Recovery Center and was a few miles away) 7 months ago. I knew of one of the kids that OD'ed there one night while under his care and sparked a shit-ton of controversy around the hospital.

I didn't have him as a physician personally but knew quite a few people that did. He gave public medical lectures every Wednesday night (sometimes given by Bob Forrest instead...the old guy on the show with the long red hair). Bob was actually one of our guidance counselors/group leaders. He's a crazy motherfucker with some insane using stories (heroin junkie/rockstar...was the front man for Thelonious Monster back in the early 90's).

Crazy shit, especially considering I was shit-talking Dr. Drew in the beginning of this thread almost a year ago lol. He actually does know his stuff, he's just a little too gung-ho about the 12 steps if you ask me.

Weird how life works out.

yes! man i know exactly what u mean. all that stuff really PISSED me off. i hate mis-information being spread around.

there was another thing about that one lady who was married to the baseball player that had triazolam(halcion) as one of her prescriptions that she takes, i.e. she was not in rehab for it. and when dr. drew sees this, he says immediately that she WILL WILL go into a seizure. he said he can predict it with great accuracy like the drug itself with give her a seizure. what he should he said was when we force you to cut your dosage in half even tho it is doing nothing detrimental to you, you very well might go into seizures from the withdrawals.

i dont hate dr. drew . i just hate all this bullshit mis-info. i dont know if he does it on purpose for entertainment purposes or is stupid.

yeah and he also said that heath ledger died from halcion which isn't true, he died from a combo of hydro/oxycodone + TEMAZEPAM + xanax + valium + unisom. not triazolam. and IMO a hypnotic benzo would counter-act seizures seeing as many benzos are used to treat seizures...i could be wrong and triazolam could be the oddball benzo but most benzos are anticonvulsants and prevent/stop seizures... dr. drew has the 12 steps so far up his ass he cant even say a single sentence without making something seem like its 1000x worse than it really is. fuck dr. drew.
 
I only listened to loveline for entertainment purposes, I never really took Dr. Drew that seriously, I don't know of this new show as I don't have TV but i'm pretty sure it would be just the same.
 
honestly, how fucking dumb are some of u? I think Dr. Drew has a little bit more of an understanding of the body and mind than the majority. Yes, his explanation of Adderall was off, but he is trying to discourage these users from EVER using again. I don't think you should expect him to sugarcoat everything, tell people in rehab that they will be fine, and continue on with their prescription drug use. I think he's great for helping people, whether he has other motives (being on t.v) is another story. But questioning his knowledge is fucking stupid. He obviously exaggerates certain drugs to deter further drug use. This is common human psychology.
