Hey All!!
i was sick recently and i spent the time in bed watching the 2 seasons of Black Books.
Has anyone else seen these?? I know they were on ABC, but i missed them completely!!
Just wanted to start an appreciation and discussion thread, so appreciate and discuss away... :)

yeah, we've got the first season on dvd! it's classic stuff :D bill bailey (mani) is fantastic - try to get hold of some of the new 'never mind the buzzcocks' seasons to see him in free-flowing action :D
 
Yes, Black books is absoulutely fantastic, myself and friends always watch it on quieter drunken nights... And it may please people to know a 3rd series is on its way..

Sorry I couldn't find a more recent thread on this prog. but (as usual) I am several years behind with my comedy development and only just found out about this wonderful programme. I think I was put off watching it because I had some unexplainable grudge against Tamsin Greig :\

Anyway, I just wanted to say how much I really really like it :)


(ps. I should have known I would find EDD boys - The Fonz and The Dr in this thread - with their impecable comedy taste ;))
 
IMO, this is one of the finest British comedy series since the original 'auf weidersien, pet'. Ive lost count how many times i've watched the first 2 series.

Bill Bailey really does rule the roost - i went to see his live show last month and nearly died laughing:D
 
this is one of the best shows ever, I have a huge thing for Tamzin (Fran) I think she's funny and HOT!

Bernard really brings the show though, I own the box set (all 3 seasons) on DVD and even the Audio commentary is done by all three main cast members and its the best ever!
 
Black Books is very entertaining. The whole cast is excellent. Is there a third series? Because if there is I haven't seen it yet.

And how could you have a grudge against Tamsin Grieg?

season 3 indeed exists and is complete, they are working on a season 4 but taking their time writing and creating it.


Tamsin Grieg is a woman I've had a thing for, for years now.


it was good seeing her in Shaun of The Dead, too.

I saw my first ever episode this weekend. Very funny! Then afterwards the guy that plays the main character (Dylan something - it starts with an M) had a stand up show on. My favorite line was him imitating American's making fun of the French. Apparently we called them "Cheese eating surrender monkeys". LOL

I'll definitely be watching this show again.
