They are showing a series of documentaries on HBO and HBO2 about drug addiction and a wide variety of various related topics. I have seen a few and the ones i saw seem to be done really well.
There are about 14 documentaries they have running. I think they are supposed to be running until the end of March.
In the episodes i saw....
The first one i saw was called Revolving Door. It was about a 33 year old mentally challenged man who is addicted to meth. This show was very surreal and a little disturbing. They give this mentally challenged guy a camera and he records all his crazy thoughts and delusions. He thinks he is secretly being watched by satellites and other types of crazy stuff. It is kinda sad but mad interesting to watch.
The other episode i saw was called Montana Meth. I didnt know until i saw this show that Montana has the 2nd highest Meth abuse rate in the US. Basically they follow a few of crazy hillbilly meth heads around. Its pretty nuts. The people they follow have a wide variety of backgrounds and situations. One is a pregnant 20 year old girl who smokes meth even though shes prego. Another girl they follow is homeless and she shoots up meth into her neck. One of the most interesting points of view this documentary displays is from a group of Native Americans. Come to find out, meth is a big problem on the indian reservations too.
