Tussionex and Suboxone Strip

ok guys I have been on the suboxone strips for awhile. The one with 8mg buprenorphine and 2mg naloxone. I have a bad cold, and my doctor prescribed me tussionex (every 5mL has 10mg hydrocodone and 8 mg of chlorpheniramine maleate). What I am trying to figure out is if I take my suboxone strip tonight, will I still feel the same good feeling that I always do? I guess you could say the "recreational" feeling of it?

Oh, and by the way.. I have taken 40 mL of the tussionex so far, which equals out to 80mg hydrocodone.

I appreciate any help anyone could give.
THANKS SO MUCH

Be very careful taking large amts of tussionex, the clorpheniramine is quite bad for your body in large doses. Its a powerful antihistamine which makes taking large portions of the tussionex quite difficult. I have no experience with suboxone let alone mixing the two but I have taken tussionex a handful of times and enjoy it but it tends to knock me on my ass due to the clorph. Also tussionex is set up as a time release suspension which makes it even harder to use. Keep in mind if you re-dose, the clorpheniramine will most likely still be in your system due to its long half life which is a reason accidental overdose is common in tussionex abusers.

The suboxone should feel the same as it always does, however it's just going to block the effects of the hydrocodone. And why Hyb said about the chlorp

I'm not sure why your doctor would Rx you anything opioid-related when you're also Rx'd suboxone (it is an Rx, right? j/w for clarity). The Suboxone is completely preventing any hydrocodone from latching onto your receptors. If anything, this could just cause someone using the syrup to take too much and OD on hydrocodone even though the effects aren't felt. All you're "getting" is the chlorpheniramine maleate, which is available in an infinite number of OTC meds.

I'd look elsewhere for cold relief. I like tea w/ echinacea (I use an "A.M. Detox" tea by a company that slips my mind currently that has the aforementioned herb, as well as milk thistle [good for the liver, but is also a bit hard on it, so it's a double-edged sword sort of].

Edit: I typed this out when there weren't any replies. Derp.

Yes, both rx'd pjkt :) I dont know either. I'm not usually on tussionex, just for the cold, but it does make no sense.

So I guess my main question is.. will it take away the Hydrocodone high, or the suboxone high? I'd MUCH rather have the suboxone high!

Ah, you're going to get absolutely nothing from the hydrocodone. Or really any cough relief... (as that's the reason for the hydrocodone in the syrup..).

Ok, so I may have forgotten one little mistake. I ahve taken the hydrocodone syrup, but I have yet to take the Suboxone. If I do take the sub, its just going to take the hydrocodone away? I will still feel the great feelings I get from suboxone right?

I've always heard your not supposed to take suboxone for 12-24 hours after taking another opioid as it may cause precipated withdrawals.
