No not the class.. just tryptamine..

Tryptamine is a monoamine alkaloid found in plants, fungi, and animals. It is based around the indole ring structure, and is chemically related to the amino acid tryptophan, from which its name is derived. Tryptamine is found in trace amounts in the brains of mammals and is believed to play a role as a neuromodulator or neurotransmitter.[1]

I can't find any solid info on it..

Anyone know anything about it?

I'm pretty sure it is highly controlled in your body being an intermediate in your own metabolism. I think if you take it you might for a small moment feel some kind of stimulation, or just nothing at all, before it gets broken down because your body knows the levels are getting too high and it is just all excess. Not entirely sure about all this though but I do not think it has any interesting effects.

Also I think it is extremely hard to get without legitimate credentials since you can make a lot of drugs from it.

DOSAGE : 250 mg, intravenously

DURATION : Very short

COMMENTS : (with up to 10 mg, intravenously) "There were no changes in blood pressure or self-rating scores."

(with 250 mg, intravenously) "Tryptamine was infused intravenously over a period of up to 7.5 minutes. Physical changes included an increases in blood pressure, in the amplitude of the patellar reflex, and in pupillary diameter. The subjective changes are not unlike those seen with small doses of LSD. A point-by-point comparison between the tryptamine and LSD syndromes reveals a close similarity which is consistent with the hypothesis that tryptamine and LSD have a common mode of action."

OK so there might be slightly more to it than I initially thought but not anything useful.

Using the enteral (oral) route it would get chopped up by mao before ever being able to do anything - taking serotonin orally would also do very little for that reason if not excite your 5-HT-3 gut receptors and make you nauseous as hell.
That is why a parenteral route such as IV is used by Shulgin. ^

Presumably this would conclude your inquiry?
