Yes, I take medication for bipolar and having my bipolar under control is a big factor in not drinking. And AA isn't very well versed in psychiatric meds and I don't expect them to be, it's not in their job description. But it ends being a conflict of interest when they're looking at pills as a way to get high and I'm looking at them as just a way to stay normal and I have people telling me I can't be sober with them and that plenty of people have gone down the road to addiction because of doctor prescribed medication. You just can't explain to someone set in their ways that you're not going to snort Prozac or depakote and its exahausting to keep searching for meetings where they get that.
