You think that is counter-argument or you could pull me into some debate, but I think virtually all politicians suck, so, I am not enthusiastic to deny that.

I think it would have actually brought the country together.
His supporters would obviously be upset, but all of America would have been shocked, even those who dislike him, because political violence is very uncommon in the United States (something more akin to what occurs in third world countries). So the assassination of a former president (especially one who is currently running for office) would have been a shocking event for all Americans (regardless how you feel about him).
So in that regard it would have brought the country together in some form of unified sentiment. There would be no civil war. In some sense it could promote a degree of healing since the trump era would now be over and we could get "over it" together as a country.

If Trump had died, the Republican party would strongly unite, put a new candidate up and win the next term, because people would be so relieved just to have a new candidate that isn't Trump/Biden.

A number of people have commented on "something being rotten in the state of Denmark" about this one but false flag doesn't ring true. The guvment is corrupt and evil, but the degree of sophistication and planning required for a graze with no subsequent leaks just doesn't jive.

All else aside, it's a simple fact that we have been the target of one for years. Doesn't matter who you think was involved or complicit. The goal is to confuse and baffle us enough for Russia to do what it wants on the world stage. Again, believe what you want about any American politician and this. Just remember that it's still happening.

I'm surprised it didn't happen sooner, to be honest. The left has been really pushing apocalyptic rhetoric about Trump getting elected, how it will be the death of democracy, how Trump is a literal fascist, how he needs to be stopped at all costs. A lot of people compare strong leaders to Hitler but this time the accusation has become actionable.
They are pushing the same rhetoric in Canada about Pierre Pollievre. The left-wing media is calling him far right (he's right of centre), saying he will bring MAGA politics to Canada, saying he is a danger to our democracy, saying he must be stopped at all costs. Meanwhile the left in Canada has gone far left, so anything to the right of them is being called radical right. When you use the language of extremism, you incite extremists to do radical things to "protect" the country because the crazies will think there is true political danger.
I've been a moderate/centrist for my whole adult life... sometimes more left leaning, sometimes more right leaning. I'm super turned off by the radical elements in politics right now, especially the progressive left. The raw election and polling data shows that America and Canada are still largely centrist. We're not seeing 60% voting for one side, it's still pretty close to 50/50. Yet the media is giving voice to extremism. Ask yourselves why.
As for Thomas Crooks, his party registration is meaningless. In PA, you need to be registered in order to vote in the GOP or DNC nominations. The fact that he donated money to the Dems suggests that he registered as Repub to try and fuck with their nomination. Happens all the time. But who knows, and who cares? A lot of people talk about taking out political opponents these days, but how many of them are truly representative of somebody crazy enough to actually carry out a plan?
I don't care who you are, you can't just go around killing people you disagree with. This is totally a product of cancel culture taken to the nth degree. The fact that Crooks was only 20 years old is not shocking to me whatsoever. Look around... Trump got shot, but right wingers are not burning down cities.

I can't find this vid I'm looking for to show you, but some place down south a pastor was doing a ride-along with a cop. They pull over this poor 17 year old girl for DWI and use the smell of weed for probable cause.They search her car and find a simple possession quantity of marijuana.
Meanwhile the girl is in cuffs on the curb, terrified and crying and the preacher is fucking giving her some fanatical sermon on turning to Christ and shit like that. I was literally shaking with anger seeing that shite. I'd sue the shit out of them if I lived in the US, especially given it's such a litigious country in general.

I generally agree, but you can't solely blame the left's media for perpetuating radical rhetoric that led to violence.
The right also perpetuates such apocalyptic and violent/paranoid ideas. How Trump is literally the victim of deep state corruption witch hunt, stolen election, qanon, pizzagate, Banana Republic, Satanism, blah blah blah.
I was scanning radio stations while driving, and heard this clip of right wing radio saying "they tried to arrest him and put him in jail to strip him of secret service detail, they've been trying to assassinate him all along!". Ridiculous man. That's stoking more violence than the left believing he is a "threat" to democracy... that's the reciprocal, like believing democracy is somehow a threat to TRUMP....
I'm so tired of each side not being able to smell the stink of their own shit.
