Tripping in Films

I believe that if you represent drugs in any film there's a "guideline" that states you are forbidden from glamourising or making drug use look positive in any way.

I think that's the main reason why all representations of drugs in films are shit.

Not Renegade/Blueberry by Jan Kounen. The use of psychedelics is a KEY part of the redemption, forgiveness and healing of the main character. It's a GOOD ending, facilitated by the drugs & the shamen.e

See above.

What about Zombieland? Cannabis has never looked cooler than in Bill Murray's mansion during the apocalypse.

Imo, this is the main reason many drug films may not have such a happy ending's (a.k.a you can show drug use within film but it must lead to some sort of negative ending)

Yeah - like pulp fiction, you can have a few minutes of "Look ma, drugs are groovy" action but then the woman has to overdose. I havn't seen Dwaynes renegade film but I've never seen a film where drug use was seen as positive.

Although according to a review of the film the identity of the "drug" they take isn't disclosed. Perhaps if you pretend it's some "magical liquid" rather than a real drug you can get away with a little more.

What about Zombieland?

Not seen it atara, I think the furthur away from reality you are the more you can squeeze in. So if you're taking a drug surrounded by zombies you've got more chance than if you're a young guy in an everyday situation.

In "Shrooms" you get a little bit at the start where someone says "Shrooms are great dude" but then everybody has to die in agony.

What's that silly bastard Toback talking about? He was on LSD for 8 days? I'm calling bullshit on that. And then he went to someone for the "antidote" to LSD? What shit. My guess is he took half a tab, couldn't handle his high and then made u p this story so he could sound like "cool".

I saw YouTube commenters on that scene saying: "Yep, they're drinking peyote. And that's exactly what it's like."

8) Peyote. That is mescaline?

No.

In The History Channel's The Stoned Ages and the Harvard Independent article, Harvard in the Sky with Diamonds*, the amount reported is 100,000 mcg. (he personally speaks to the camera in in the History channel thing).

The only kind of movies I personally enjoy the most while high are over the top comedies like tropic thunder. I have tried many times with movies with more FX like Tron and transformers but... they just don't have anything extra for me... I actually focus a lot on the little details and shit that doesn't make any sense (like some static clouds in the background or shit like that). Movies with a strong emotional point of view only have a bigger effect on me if the music is spot on. Try watching Inmortal Beloved on LSD...
