Tripelennamine - More abuse potential compared to other first-gen antihistamines?

Hey everyone, I recently found out that tripelennamine is still OTC (Schedule III) in Canada but only for topical use (found in vaginal itch creams at 2% w/w). I am aware that historically it has been used as an PO/IV antihistamine/sedative, and is famous for being used in combination with pentazocine or morphine.

After some further research is seems that although tripelennamine is still Schedule III, it is no longer available on most websites...so it seems like they are taking off the market slowly (Vagin-x cream). However, I don't see why I can't just order the pure chemical from overseas or within Canada...as it is not an rx-medication.

But since this is not a legal forum, I want to just get some idea of how tripelennamine comapres to other anti-histamines? Is it more recreational than other first-gen antihistamines, due to the fact that is has little to no anticholinergic action (given by one source as 7 per cent the muscarinic blocking power of atropine compared to 58 per cent for diphenhydramine and 25 per cent for chlorpheniramine)?

I have seen this diaryl alkyl chain, tertiary amine Pharmacophore somewhere, possible DRA, DRI, and most def h1 antagonist activity, possibly nicotinic activity..
The whole middle recreational section in the Wikipedia is all anecdotal- almost no citations.. I would believe it would do this but I wouldn't go abuse this, it appears to be a potentiator of sorts through histamine interactions and enzyme inhibition..
Apparently it has a large following but then again most niche drugs do at one time or another..

More studies posted would help the thread but the refs are kinda bare on its non histaminergic potentiation of opiates (in Wikipedia at least)

Ive used it in conjuction with pentazocine before it was discontinued here in America. I never injected, just oral but the combination is definitely better than either on its own. Hard to pinpoint exactly how it feels, but kinda like the warmth you get when morphine hits you.

Ive seen it on some vendors sites too. It certainly is worth a shot if you can get it but doubt it will do much on its own.

Hey thanks for the reply! It's great to hear from the old timers (i'm guessing you are at least over 30 right?). Well...i'm ordering a few grams of tripel in the mail soon so I hope to share the experience here. My plan is to start with 100 mg and work my way up, combined with 30 mg morphine PO or 60-90 mg codeine PO.

Ps. What is your experience with pentazocine like? I have heard it has very unique effects and is unlike any other opioids...but for many people it's not recreational. Whats your thought?
