I was abusing hydrocodone & oxycontin for several years & had to go to rehab last winter. Now I had never shot up before I went to rehab. When I was there one of the other clients was looking at my arms talking about what good veins I have for shooting up & he told me how much better it was and all that. Anyways, when I got out & relapsed I bought 12 dilaudid's & googled how to shoot them up. I went & bought some needles & tried doing it. I did it way wrong & kept just poking my forearm & shooting crushed up dilaudid & water into it. I did something really bad.. My forearm muscle in my left arm has deteriorated. There was a hard knot by my elbow for a while & my left forearm has shrank up I guess permanently because it hasn't gotten any better (I think it's gotten worse) and it's been 10 months since this happened. Does anyone know what I did? My left forearm has gotten so little & it used to be really muscular with veins. Now, they'res no muscle. I can't believe I was so stupid to do that. I've messed my arm up really bad. There is no pain in it but sometimes it will just start tingling real bad.. I can't turn my hand all the way over palm up. Does anyone know exactly what in the world I've done?

This happened 10 months ago and you have not been to a doctor to have this checked out??? At least you aren't dead and I'm guessing that is a good thing. I would make an appointment with a doctor first thing Monday morning but the damage you describe may now be permanent. Why didn't you go to an ER when this first happened?

Maybe you did an intramuscular by mistake. I don't know ... but edgewise is right, get to the doc asap, if it's a concern about telling them what happened it's not worth it. They are just doctors, see substance users probably 20 - 30 % at least of the time.

I'm sorry this happened. I would be concerned. Feel better! Maybe this is a blessing in disguise, keep you from the needle. :)

As the others have said, get it checked. The muscle wasting may be muscle damage and/or nerve damage. Plus, there are all those pesky tendons and ligaments to consider. Some physical therapy to work on strength, motion, and function might be helpful to either improve things or at least prevent further deterioration... but PT requires a (you guessed it) physician's order (or maybe a chiropractor can order it too, I'm not sure).

Please, please, please see a doctor. Good luck to you.

This guy obviously forgot to tell you about registering while so intrigued by the look of your good dope shooting veins
Cause it sounds like you missed em all pal

Did you ever see blood enter the barrel at all?
Anyways I'll agree with others, def get it checked asap though to be safer than sorry

Waiting ten months while still experiencing side effects leads straight down the sorry route

Don't IV drugs without somebody else there with you who knows what the hell they are doing. This blows my mind you go to detox a non IV drug user but come out wanting to use needles. Sigh... unfortunately this happens far too often it even happened to me a guy I met in detox actually showed me how to shoot up back in the day then had me selling drugs for him since he was a big time drug dealer.

Anyways whats done is done so get yourself to the hospital it sounds like nerve damage was caused and it sounds like youay very well lose your arm in the future if this isn't taken care of. What would you rather have No muscle in your arm until getting it amputated or would you rather suck it up be a man and go see a god dam doctor!!!

Go to the hospital they shouldn't judge you its not like you have a prescription to narcotics you'll be worried about losing the doctors are there to help you and sometimes we do stupid things to ourselves but it's a doctors duty to help you anyways no judging.

Don't IV another drug if you value your life.
If you are get someone who knows what they are doing or come on here for step by step instructions!! Your best bet is to have someone there with you in the flesh instead of over the computer though as you found out.

Come on guys, what´s the point in telling "why didn´t you go to a doctor?" , "You should have gone to the hospital" etc. It´s in the past. And maybe these questions do not matter right now.

Go to a doctor as soon as possible. What´s done is done. Don´t worry about things you can´t change. But change the things you can, and do that by going to a doctor, please!
Blessed the post who said
"Feel better! Maybe this is a blessing in disguise, keep you from the needle. :)"
I believe that´s how you should cope with it, and by going to a doctor as soon as possible.
wish you the best luck!

A quick simple answer . You fucked up . Hospital . ASAP . Be honest about what went down and next time you try something new make sure you have a lot of education . Iv is dangerous and risky and will eventually fuck something up no matter how you do it . Even trained doctors will collapse or pop a vein if they arnt careful or stick you one to many times . There's no safe route with abuse but stick with common roa methods you're educated on . Injecting is way more complicated than just hitting a vein . If you clean your skin and use fresh needles and filter your dope you could probley learn how to safely shoot in a matter of hours . A hard bump sounds like missed injection which many people have and it doesn't do anything but you need to go in to the ER cause there's some kind of infection in you or bad shit got in through your needle , skin or dope. Could be wrong but that's the 2 most logical answers I got. Either way you're in need of care no matter what the cause is.
