Whats up.

Just opiates in general, does anybody have any tips or tricks to cycle a heavy nod going?? I mean, obviously higher dosages and stuff, but i'm just speaking in general. For example, maybe analogous to light shows or pressing on your eyes or zeroing hits when your not getting visuals or a roll is feeling flat or the buds not getting you off.

I mean sometimes, when i use opiates, and have heard other people mention it, there can be more of an uppedy/angry vibe.

Any ideas from more experienced people?

if im in a really depressed mood and need to nod, i seem to prefer Hydrocodone over Oxycodone because it's more sedating. then pop 50mg of Benadryl, throw a 2mg Klonopin and 20mg of Ambien under my tongue, throw on some hypnotic / trippy music and i get in a strong ass nod. it's dangerous though, if you have a strong will / need to wake up every morning, its not something id suggest. i just have a ridiculous tolerance to them all so i need those doses to really get gone.

Try dosing and then immediately try to meditate before it kicks in.. the already relaxed mental state should increase once the opiate kicks in.
Then keep your eyes shut till you have no more thoughts going through your mind and are able to fall asleep if wanted and then suddenly force yourself to snap out of it and then you will be in a relaxed dream state.. pretty close to a nod IMO.

have a couple drinks or like 3mg melatonin
don't be around people who constantly want to talk / put headphones on

I find that if I'm not particularly tired and have plenty of energy then laying down and relaxing as if I was preparing to sleep (but not quite letting myself drift off completely) allows for some nice nods, even at doses normally too low. As does forcing myself to stay up when I'm super tired and can barely keep my eyes open during a nice high, that leads to some lovely nods too. I find that the latter is more predictable in inducing nods but it's also harder to achieve, since I find opiates tend to wake me up and so it's rare that I'm genuinely "super tired" during an opiate experience unless I've taken a dose high enough that I'll be nodding away without any added help anyway..

Also, recreating the motion of nodding can help. By that I mean, letting your head sink forward and your eyes close, and then a few moments later letting it lift up and your eyes open again. It might sound silly, but "fake nodding" for a little while has always been a good technique for me to induce real nods. It's like after the body does it back and forth a few times the brain thinks you've been nodding and kicks a nod in automatically.

Hope this helps :)

Sedative antihistamines are a quick and easy to sort method of catching more of a nod with your opiates. Keep in mind that not all OTC antihistamines have noticeable sedative properties. Doxylamine (Unisom) or Diphenhydramine (Benadryl) are your best bet. Hydroxyzine (Atarax, Vistaril, Etc.) and Promethazine (Phenergan) are better in my personal opinion. The latter are only available by prescription in the US, although it's easy as pie to get them in my experience. 15-20 minutes prior to dosing your opiate, take 2x the standard recommended dose and you should have a bit of an "enhanced" nod.

As far as prescriptions go... Muscle relaxers can work well for some people. Carisoprodol (Soma) is the best, flexeril being a distant second. Again dosing at the appropriate time really helps the different substances synergize. Benzodiazepines are the obvious choice for most people, but the combined use of opiates and benzo's really isn't something that can be condoned as it is so dangerous. The initial dose of benzo/opiate isn't even the real problem for me personally. The problem comes after the benzo kicks in and my judgement goes out the window.

Weed obviously helps. Back when I first started dabbling in weaker opiates (Oxycodone, Hydrocodone), I never felt truly high until I toked. Once I started using heroin though, the real goal was to prevent the nod.

I would recommend the antihistamine route, although if you're like me and you like that warm pleasant itch the antihistamines will cancel that out.

Be very careful when combining opioids and sedatives though. It's very easy to get to a point you can't come back from. This is especially worth noting with benzodiazepines and z-drugs (eg. zolipidem). The synergistic effect is very strong even if you have a tolerance to benzos. My normal dose of clonazepam (1.5mg) would put me on such a hard nod that it sometimes would get scary.

i read a couple of pages from a good book or even the newspaper. By the 3rd or 4th page I would have a nod. It really works. I used to do it everyday after my methadone dose to get a good nod going. Reading things on the internet doesn't seem to work for some reason.
