I wrote this tonight as I was reminiscing over someone.
As you can see from the difference in Pt I and Pt. II, I have mixed feelings.

"Adah"

Stripped away, no closure; We hadn't even begun
I tore pages from my journal, leaving intact only one
Upon the lines I poured my soul out, then burnt them into thin air
Hoping my heavy hearted words might find a more final destination than here

Each piece that I recover, every puzzle of our lives
Sheds light on things I've failed to say and leaves me without words
In memory I'm dwelling; In misery I rest
I'm retracing all our paths at night,
Hoping to find what I had missed

All my pacing, all in vain
'Cause all along, I'm missing you
My only hope lies in history repeating itself
The next time, I swear to treat you better

This endless reflection feeds a boundless void
The ominous sea becomes my soul
But as you still dance gloriously upon my dreams
The grief is lifted more and more

We'll get that trip, you and I, someday
With shining faces, flawless souls,
We'll lean against the wind and soak up all of the rays of ecstasy in the history of endless worlds

So dance, my angel, dance
Give thanks unto your moon
As the body dies one day,
Our souls shall be reborn
To be together once and for all
We'll long for nothing more

PT. II

But the record in my head just plays "Give life unto the dead"
And every memory I hold links back to you
With every breath I take in fate, and know
The life that I create will never, ever be your pride and joy again
I was your unrequited love
The one you blanketed in hugs
But now you smother, every ray of hope within

I see you far beyond my reach, and know, in spite of what I preach
I will never feel your hand in mine again
You were my blood and saving grace
It is your sacrifice I taste
The bitter consequence I face is fair, my friend

Just let the record in my head replay "Give life unto the dead"
And never answer in reply to all I do
May every wrong done unto me pay debt to you...
