travelling domestic, pills in my carry on

Hello there!
So im flying to italy in a week %) and im planning on taking a few lyrica and maybe some xanax with me on the plane.
Im lack a rx for them, but am only taking a small amount ( total of about 6-10 ) and from what i've read i believe i should be fine if i have them lying loose in my carry on.
Anyway, does this seem like a bad idea?

You will almost certainly be fine. When I fly I have a wash bag with toothbrush, paracetamol, moisturizer and usually at least 4-5 illegally acquired sleepers. Nobody has ever asked me about them. I have a friend whose medical condition means he takes literally dozens of pills through, all out unblistered in one big plastic tub and even he rarely gets asked about them.

Doubt there'd be any problem...even if they do find it I highly doubt you'd get into much trouble for a few unprescribed xanax. But there's always the possibility they'll find it.
