I posted recently that i am prescribes tramadol for a lower back injury. I lost my prescription and the drs office refuses to give a new one. If i would get a prescription for ultracet would that be the same (insurance wise) as tramadol? I hate even needing to do this. First part of the day was fine now i have ridiculous anxiety literally crying....like wtf. Something is not righ.

From what I understand its Tramadol and APAP check the dosage - should be the same for your insurance purposes. Tell your GP your not happy about taking APAP and switch back to tramadol.

APAP can be toxic if taken in high amounts, please check the amount your taking.

Thank you for the reply but what I meant was whether or not I would be able to fill an ultracet prescription before its time to get new tramadol script. If insurance just considers both tramadol thwy will most likely not fill it? Monday i talk to the lady who actually prescribed in thw first place. This is all because i lost a script and thwy refuse to issue a new one.

Im really torn about whether to try and get her to write another script. Ive struggled with opiate addiction for years. I was clean for about two years. Relapsed on these and kratom. Was fine for a while thwn back on dope for a few months. Got off for a few months now on these. They do help my depression but now im strung out on these AND neurontin. The neurontins been a few months and i know coming off them will be pure shite.

Ultracet is just brand name tramadol/APAP. I believe it has less tramadol than the Ultrams or generic 50 mg tabs. Tramadol also has SNRI activity which is contributing to your mood being unstable. If you are able to quit of course you should, you said you have a past of opiate abuse/addiction and we know how that goes unfortunately. Good luck to you.

its very common to cry for no reason after stopping tramadol. tramdol does funny things to serotonin receptors. Namely the ones that control emotions. Sorry you lost your script, cold turkey must suck. You should tell your doctor EXACTLY how you are feeling in terms of the crying, sadness or whatever, and do this in person. Im sure he/she will then give you some more. its a trust issue. You should consider tapering off tramadol if you can. never abruptly stop tramadol, as you now know.

Thanks for the replys. My last dose was at like 5pm last night. Ita now 430pm the next day and I have no taken anything except my exact dosage of gabapentin. I feel almost completely "normal" but Ive heard people say that it doesnt start until day two like methadone (even methadone I felt within 24hrs though). I have only six pills left and my appointment isnt for (I believe another 3-5 days, I have to call and see). Normally I take between 3-6 pills a day (50mg). I love that light buzz they give, they are addicting in a very strange way.
