[ The drug here is Ultram Tramadol HCI. It has 50 mg per pill. This has no tylenol in it, and I believe it is time released, though I am not sure. There is a brand of this drug that contains tylenol, so beware ]

--- Dosed 100mg a few hours ago ---

This is coming from an opiate user. I have done opiates for a long time, ranging from codeine-hydrocodone-oxycodone-oxycontin (etc), but not any of the very powerful opiates such as heroine. I am also a regular DXM user, so that helps with my tolerance a lot. I recently came across Tramadol and read up about it. A lot of people said that it was a nice euphoric, long-lasting 8 hour buzz that felt like hydrocodone. Others poked fun at these people and peristed in claiming that the drug has absolutely no recreational value.

Well my conclusion, after taking the drug, is that pretty much all of the people who claimed that this drug does nothing recreationally, are regular opiate users with a VERY HIGH TOLERANCE. And lets not forget that drugs affect everyone different.

The truth is, this drug is DEFINENTLY GOOD RECREATIONALLY. And I will go on to say that I like it better than hydrocodone but not quite as much as percocet. I am still on the drug right now after taking it hours ago. I'm relaxed as hell, calm, pleasant, buzzed, awake, fuzzy, tingly and yes... EUPHORIC. So enough of the "it does nothing" bullshit. If it does nothing for you, I'm sorry, but that's what a high opiate tolerance does to you. Or it could just be your body. But don't go on claiming that it is a worthless drug. Anyway, the fact that this drug contains no tylenol is a huge bonus plus the fact that it lasts a very long time.

As for dosage, most seem to need 100-250mg of this, while some others with a big opiate tolerance seem to need 300-400 or more of this stuff. It only took me 100mg to feel nice as hell, but then again I am a lightweight (meaning I don't need high doses to get high on things). It took about 20 minutes for me to start feeling it, and then about an hour for it to fully kick in. I've been chillin since then. If you don't have a high tolerance to opiates, I highly recommend you take 100mg to start, and add some more if you need to. Once again, it lasts a very long time, so you will have plenty of time to redose.

Anyways, I can describe the trip as any hydrocodone/percocet trip, except without the itchiness and I have yet to feel any nausea at all. Also, this drug has a "speedy" feeling to it. It also makes you much more social and confident. I definently recommend this drug if you are an opiate user. However, if your someone who has a very high opiate tolerance, I don't know if this drug will do it for you, especially users of very strong opitates like heroine. As for everyone else, Tramadol is a great alternative to codeine and hydrocodone and it's just fine if your out of those percocets. Tramadol is absolutely perfect for getting through a stressful day.

I hope this finally gets rid of those stupid posts of people claiming that Tramadol is worthless. It definently is not. But always remember that tolerance to stuff like this builds up FAST, just like an opiate, so you should never rely on these types of drugs daily. If you have to take them, be responsible and spread out the days that you take them, or you'll end up having to pop a huge amount.

[ I am in no way encouraging anyone to abuse this drug. I am only recommending it as an alternative for opiate users. Be safe, have fun ]

I agree word for word. Except for the last part about Tolerance. I've taken 100mg every 2 days and I get the same wonderfull experience. Great Report. Tramadol!

Oh an I havn't seen a time released 50mg pill. Most likely its is normal.

i actually happen to have some ultracet in my possesion. i'll give them a try tomorrow and reply back here with the results. say i take 150 mg, how much hydrocodone would that be equivalent to?

you were right, it works. i took 150 mg 1 hour ago and right now i have a mild opiate buzz similar to about 15 mg hydrocodone. i think i will try upping the dosage to 200 or 250 mg.

I have no opiate tolerance and last night took 50 mg 5htp with 50 mg tramadol and had the most relaxing feeling ive had in a long time. Just goes to show you how underrated these can be...even in low doses

took 187 mg and i'm feeling quite nauseas with no buzz. i think this will be the last time i take tramadol.

Give it a next try.
It is strange, but some people need to take it few times before they recognize positive effects.

nice trip report but I totally disagree. 15mg methadone>150mg tramadol. Way, way greater :)

I like 15mg methdone a little more than 20mg oxycodone and 25mg hydro. Much more.

peak effects are from about at the 3-10 hour mark and can be felt to about 16 and sometimes 20. Afterglow for up to 30 for me and my friend/GF. The most I took was 22.5... I have maybe done opiates 100 times... all spaced out and at or below the above doses.

I still have a few left... =D

I totally agree as well, tramadol is heavenly. I however have not heard anyone mention the prevalent seizure risk associated with tramadol HCL use in dosages greater than 400mg ( 8 Ultram tablets or 12 Ultracet ) IF YOU HAVE TO GO OVER THIS AMOUNT be sure and take it with Clonazapam or some other anti-seizure med.

I have taken tramadol every day for 3 years now and I have to say that I am very addicted to it. I cannot function without it, that is no exaggeration, just the truth.

Be careful with Tramadol. It can cause bowel damage. ANd also can make you pretty crook each time you take it. Prolonged use can lead to permanent damage.

I've taken tramadol many times with no opiate tolerance and still think it's junk. There is an opiate-like buzz, but also nausea and a simply uncomfortable feeling. Your milage may vary.

"Prolonged use can lead to permanent damage."

Bbbccc-> I'd like to know more about this if you have any links as this is close to my heart.

i've taken ultram before and all it did was knock me out!!! i was pretty mad because i really wanted to experience it, but maybe it was too much for me. but now, after taking OC, i can't figure myself out. i think my opiate tolerance is very shifty.

^^ Yeah, can't trust that opiate tolerance. Always looking at you out of the corner of it's eyes... wearing dark trench coats and sunglasses. Shady.

yeah. it causes much more nausea than equivalently larger doses of other opioids. also sometimes after taking them i get what i now call "tramadol sickness". the first time that happened was on 200 mg but last time i only took 75 mg and got the sickness. i get pain in my stomach and a constant feeling like i need to burp and throw up (not the same as nausea and i can't actually throw up). in addition i feel very lethargic, weak and just drained. i remember going to work while i had tramadol sickness and several customers complained about my poor service (i'm a waiter). the worst thing about it is it lasts 3-4 days, that's right i was sick for 3 days from taking 2 pills. less than some websites recommmend for pain control.

I've said it over and over on this board. Take tramadol on an empty stomach. You won't get as much nausea as you would if you had eaten before, and the effects will be much greater. If you have any tolerance to opiates, you need at least 500 mgs to get a good high.

the last sentence is my opinion if you don't believe it then do just that, but don't flame me.

I am no expert on tramadol or opiates really, but anyone taking that dose, consider first that 500mg might be a good dose for people with tolerance, but could be somewhat dangerous for others. Could someone confirm or deny this?

Tramadol is a wiley one for sure.
Some get high, some don't
Some need 500mg, some need 100mg
Some people never get tolerant to it, some do...

But jesus, tramadol on an empty stomach? Only time I have every gotten a nausea on an opiate was from tramadol on an empty stomach. A little food works wonders to pad nearly all oral drugs.
