Motive
-----------

I lost around 5 Zoloft pills. I need to not take Zoloft for 5 days to keep my prescription at the right level. I have around 70 Tramadol 50 mg pills laying around. I decided to use them instead.

Prior opioid experiences
-----------

I have used Oxycodone in dosages up to 20mg. I was unimpressed with its euphoric effects, but impressed with the painkilling effects.

Dosage
-----------

I took ~200 mg of Tramadol.

Analgesia
-----------

I have a chest wall condition in which my chest aches when I use my left arm. This is particularly annoying because it feels like a heart attack when it gets bad. Coupled with any anxiety, it becomes even worse.

Tramadol makes this feeling go away almost entirely.

Euphoria
-----------

I have never gotten great euphoria from Tramadol or Oxycodone. Tramadol makes me feel moderately happier, very heavy, warm and more open to discuss topics. However it is not mind-blowing or extraordinary.

Also I am not hungry when taking Tramadol.

Conclusion
-----------

Opioids are not very euphoric to me. Oddly enough, alcohol makes me feel much more euphoric than any dosage of opioids I have taken. Is this uncommon?

Interesting. I guess, once again, tramadol is different for everybody. For me it's a miracle drug: a painkiller, an anti-depressant, and an energy pill all in one. Works incredibly well for the back and neck pain I experience regularly since a bad wreck in early 2007. I just picked up my script from the pharmacy, actually.
Alcohol doesn't give me any euphoria at all, never has. I don't drink at all, ever, because it makes me sick, depressed, and all of the pain in my body gets worse while under its influence. Fuck that.
Question: So are you taking the tramadol for it's SSRI properties or just to have something in your system while you're out of Zoloft?

I was using the Tramadol because I was out of Zoloft. Also, it was a perfect time to stifle my curiosity.

how can u say alcohol gives u a better euphoria then any dosage of oxycodone?? My friend, you obviously never did OC cuz i promise u that its a hell of a lot more euphoric then alcohol....alcohol - fuck that.:!

Totally serious. I could be an alcoholic for that reason. Alcohol to me is much more euphoric than oxycodone in the ~20 mg range. Maybe if I did 30 or 40 mg things would be different.

Try throwing some promethazine in the mix, they have good synergy together.

Ditto.

I think Tramadol HCL is great.

It seems like whenever SWIM can't find harder opiates tramadol is always ready to fill in. Not the best substitute, but an honorable mention. ;)

If I weren't taking Zoloft I'd be much more comfortable to go past 200 mg and combine with antihistamines.

As for alcohol, how it affects me is both good and bad. Good in that my favorite drug is easy to access even slightly underage.

Bad because once I start drinking I do not want to stop. I've gotten better at it, but there was a point where if I had one or two drinks, I wanted nothing more than to keep drinking to eventual blackout and sleep. I can stop drinking when needed, now.

After like 5 drinks, my whole body feels like static, I have no pain and my inhibitions are drastically lowered. I'm not sure if others feel that way.

I've been taking (1) 50mg Tramadol pill before going out on Saturday nights and it makes me feel happy and gets rid of my social anxiety. I've been sticking to just 50mg and only on saturdays. I tried 2 once (100mg) and after drinking for a bit with friends it just made me feel drunker faster, so I didn't like that too much.
