Q: Does Tramadol have recreational value?
A:
This is something I am starting to ponder: Some people will not use Tramadol, and others say it works wonders for them. I notice this connection with standard SSRI's as well (Prozac etc..). SSRI's either help somebody with their symptoms, or really don't do anything to help them. I found it odd that this is common with anti-depressants but Tramadol has SSRI properties. Can anybody explain this connection?
Tramadol is one of those "respect" drugs. If you take a high dose and just try to nod out, its NOT going to happen. You will most likely be disappointed. This is what I did when I first got my hands on tram and I was utterly disappointed. It was not until I actually took some time to focus on the effects of Tramadol I noticed the power of it. I have seen heroin addicts say they prefer the unique feeling of tram. Mild opioid and S(S/N)RI activity that gives you a nice buzz without much of any sides. The perfect combo; not so much for withdrawals
Why is tram-considered a non-narcotic? If definitely is not. Opiate itches and all, plus S(S/N)RI activity, c'mon now. In case anybody was wondering, I have been around the block with opiates. I refuse to IV at this point in my life, but have done just about every opiate and was slightly addicted to oxycodone (60mg/day). Rather then being a full blown drug addict, I love the balance Tramadol offers. Just my opinion
Happy dosing
