Tramadol or Codeine

I have a prescription for both. What is the best way to use them recreationally? I have no opiate tolerance and the one time I did tramadol I became nauseated and had an upset stomach.

I am 240lbs and 6'1". I have Codeine phosphate tablets and Tramadol HCL tablets.

Which one is better? (or less side effects)

I have to ask questions if I'm gunna be able to give you answers:

1. What mg are the Codeine tablets?
2. Same for the Tramadol (?)
3. Do the Codeine tablets have any Paracetamol (Acetaminophen) in them?
4. Same for the Tramadol (?)

As for which one is better, it's really subjective. I prefer Codeine to Tramadol as it's more sedating (for me anyway) and that suits me nicely.
And, again, as for the one with the least side effects, it is subjective, but I would hazard a guess as Tramadol as many people seem to get a lot of Histamine related side effects from Codeine.

i prefer codeine some people prefer tramadol, it partly depends on your metabolism....

for starter doses for codeine i say 300mg (some may say this is too high, but its not dangerously high, nowhere near OD territory,and to get a good first opiate buzz, well just don't do the shit half arsed...), codeine also makes u very itchy (big histamine release) so take an anti-histamine (like benadryl for example) 30 minutes before taking the codeine... for some it itches so much it ruins the high, so def get an anti-histamine.

tramadol i would recommend 250mg for a good first high, some people find it extremely euphoric, i think it sucks coz it doesn't do shit to me, it must be coz i metabolize it differently or sumn....

Metabolism really shouldn't play a big role in which is better. Codeine and tramadol are metabolized via the same cytochrome. CYP2D6. However, tramadol is also metabolized via CYP3B6, and CYP3A4.

My vote is for tramadol. I have been using since summer 2003. I am obviously dependent on it. Every month I may run out a few days early and I am faced with horrific withdrawal. I have been on tramadol for 7 years and tolerance hasn't been a big issue. I am only up to 200mg every day and feel great.

Other opioids (even morphine) are virtually useless for me. I use them when I am out of tramadol and I'm just not as happy with them. Potent opioids such as morphine don't even take away all of the tramadol w/d. And the relief they do give is very short-lived.

I guess tram's opioid action isn't why I love it, but it's sudden serotonin release, inhibition of serotonin and norep reuptake, etc. Tram is the shit, man. Start with a low dose, please.
