I took 150mg of Tramadol just over 24 hours ago. Is it safe to take 40 mg of vyvanse?

Thanks for your help.

The Wiki isn't the right place for this type of question - I'm going to move this over to Basic Drug Discussion.

Giving it was a day ago, you're probably safe. Be careful with the Vyvanse though, it's very easy to become addicted to it. Make sure you space out the times you take high doses to decrease the chances of addiction.

I'm not trying to tell you what to do, just giving some advice that has helped me in my use with Vyvanse and Adderall. (:

also - stay hydrated. you WILL piss a lot.

Sorry if you already know this stuff, I'm just 'tryna help.

I am prescribed both Tramadol and Vyvanse and I asked both my Back / Spine specialist about potential interactions and my psych Dr. who started me on the Vyvanse; Neither of them were concerned and both mentioned that the risks would be more of a factor to a patient who was naive to either or both medicines.
I have a tendency to use my Tramadol prescription much faster than the month it is supposed to last, so I do try to reduce my Vyvanse dose when I am taking more than 300 MG Tramadol a day. (I am also prescribed 1 MG Klonopin twice a day); when I am going to take higher dose of Tramadol, I usually take the 2 MG all at once at least an hour before).
In general, I would not recommend these two medicines be used together at recreational doses, but I wanted to add this post because when I first tried to research the potential interactions, I couldn't find anything other than people warning of seizures.

My psych Dr also explained to me that the seizure risk depends on how a patient responds to medications that modify the natural use of Serotonin in the brain. Because I had been on several SSRI's that were not effective for me in the past, she perceived the risk from the tramadol to be much lower based on my medication history.

When I first started taking Tramadol for my back Injury, I got an amazing anti-depressant effect unlike any other medication ever provided, this only lasted a few weeks though and after 6 months + of regular use - I don't even notice the SNRI effects anymore.
I also have too much tolerance to be able to catch a buzz with any safe amount so it has become what it is meant to be; an effective tool for pain management.

Also wanted to mention, that I have not had an overly difficult time in between scripts; often this is a case of about 15-20 days on and 10 days off; the first day or two off, I am usually extremely tired and the Vyvanse doesn't even wake me up. Then I use Kratom for the pain management; usually moderate doses daily until I get more Tramadol Unfortunately, this combination has resulted in my opiate tolerance being relatively high and I don't get much of a buzz from either Kratom or Tramadol anymore.
