Tramadol and methadone

Can tramadol (Ultram) ease pain when one is drinking methadone? If so, is it comparable to codeine, or is it better or ...? I have never used it, I would be very happy if anyone could enlighten me.

i don't know about methadone withdrawal, but i have used tramadol effectively for a few things. i can tell you this- it's very different to codiene. codiene kinda numbs sickness, tramadol is kinda DISSOCIATIVE.... it's like the pain and grotness is in another box in your brain, still there but far away. i'd try it is i were in your situation.

I kinda agree with those commments. Tramadol IS weirdly dissociative...
And yes, tramadol should ease a methadone comedown somewhat.

It's written on the tramadol spec not to use it for a drug WD, but many doctors in europe do it. I use tramadol regulary and it's very different from codeine. It's much better

id say only take it(150 to 200mg) when it gets really bad.
try not to take it regularly.
drinking with it IS fun, but not advisable in your situation obviously

Tramadol seems dissociative because it shares a similar cyclohexanol structure to drugs like ketamine. Still, it is mu- active, and therefore could ease the withdrawals from a methadone dose decrease. It is not an agonist/antagonist, and would not worsen the withdrawal. Just try not to transition your addiction from methadone to tramadol......
