So I'm wondering if taking some tramadol and kolonopin together is safe. Basically, I'm looking to take 50 mg of tramadol in the morning, then 50 mg of tram in the evening with 1 - 2 mg of kolonopin. I am not doing this for recreation, I am basically just looking to relieve what is going to be some pretty nasty opioid withdrawals as I've been on a 6 month stint and the past few weeks I've been IVing heroin. Now I know this won't relieve all the WD symptoms but I would like to take the edge off of them and make them a little more manageable for the first couple days.

Since I have not taken tramadol before I'm unsure if taking that drug with kolonopin is safe? Also if I'm taking the tram as I described on the first 2 days of acute WD will this reset the clock so to speak when I don't take any on day 3? I'm hoping to make it past day 2 because I feel if I can get to that point I will have more motivation/inspiration to keep going. Lately I have been breaking down on day 1 or 2, I know that is pretty pathetic but I'm trying to exhaust all my options before I decide to check myself into a detox center.

Thanks for any info or advice...

If you've never done Tramadol before then stick with the prescribing directions on your pill bottle. It's generally safe to combine Tramadol with a benzo. Tramadol is an SNRI as well as a light opioid. And Tramadol withdrawals alone are no picnic so be careful.

lol, tramadol isn't a light opiate in any way shape or form. and the withdrawals aren't that bad as long as you aren't an eternal doom amoeba suffering wormoid.

Wow, ok lol. Interesting advice there dude. The reason I was asking about safety with tram and kolonopin is because like poppyplanet mentioned the tram being an SNRI. I guess I'll just do as I planned and if the tramadol doesn't help I'll just load up on benzos and potentiate them with beer lol. later.

Tramadol does bind to the μ-opioid receptor and tramadol withdrawals are terrible. However, the severity of its withdrawals for the most part are not attributed to its weak opioid action but to its SNRI action.

Tramadol's main metabolite is O-desmethyltramadol, which is a far more potent opiate. Hence the reason some people really enjoy Tramadol, their bodies do a good job metabolizing it.

Git gud.

Why do so many people think Tramadol is not an opioid? I have read that a lot in the last time...
That maxhead-guy is talking out of his ass.
I agree that the WDs from it are nasty so OP you better not take it too long. But 2x50mg/day is a small dose so the combo with Clonazepam should be no problem as long as you do not take more or throw alcohol in the mix.
Good luck getting through the withdrawls :)

That's really interesting. You'll notice some aren't really in to them. Personally I love 'em.
Whatever though, you'll be fine dude. Good luck.

Thank you everyone for the advice and the good wishes. Hopefully this time next week ill be posting about my accomplishment of going more than 5 or 6 days straight with no opioids, at this point 5 days is a milestone. Thanks again everyone you all stay cool.

I've taken 100mgs of Tramadol with 5mgs of Valium & they potentiate each other very well.....since Tramadol is like speed for me, the Valium brings it down a few notches & just gives me a chill high.

I've taken this combo when I was out of my other opiates......you will be fine taking Tramadol with Klonopin.
