Hi,

I am an opiate addict who has managed to come off H and stabalised at 8 Tramadol 50mgs per day.

I take four at 9am in the morning and four at 10pm at night.

Today I went out and bought a half gram of coke, and then done a line there (6:10PM GMT) and feel fine. Immediately after the dose I realised that it is a bad combo due to seizure risk by combining an SSRI with Coke.

My main question is, am I likely to be safe to take the Tramadol tonight at 10pm? Which will be T+3hr 45mins from my last Cocaine doseage. I also have 5mg Valium which I take with my tramadol..

Thank you.

Tramadol and Cocaine is what killed Old Dirty Bastard, so I would say NO, But there may be details I have wrong or have overlooked so hopefully someone with more knowledge can chime in

I used to get really strong effects from tramadol. Less than ten years ago I was taking 50mg even and getting noticeable 5HT-ergic effects as well as noradrenergic. More recently though (in the last year), I was able to eat a gram a day and the only thing I could feel was opioidergic effects.

I think you should be ok, but ODB died from a heart attack and not 5HT syndrome I think?

Guys, he did 1 line of it 4 hours prior to the proposed taking of tramadol. That cocaine should be long gone...

I'd say the 5mg diazepam would be equivilant to negating the risk.

Definitely avoid cocaine if you plan to be taking Tramadol, in general.

I am perscribed tramadol for pain. I did a little bit of coke when I was on tramadol before and got an extreamly bad headache like someone was crushing my temples which I had never got from coke or tramadol on its own.

Tramadol and d-methyphenidate feels safe. MPH however does not possess any significant SERT affinity, which cocaine does, so there is a risk of hypertensive crisis. Low doses should not cause this, but take caution......
