Hey world - it's been a tough one over the last few days and i'm not sure where to turn for help. I've been having some pretty bad withdrawls. I've been on remron (Mirtazapine) for about a year and i'm trying to come off. I was also badly addicted to zopiclone and am still in benzo withdrawl too. I used to take about 10-15 zops a day. I've also been taking oxy for a few weeks and have been coming off of that. I've been taking 100 mg of the oxyneo at once usually. So thats benzo, antidepressant and oxy withdrawl all at once. I've been trying to cope by smoking ganj when feeling shitty, but i have no clue what else to do. Been in lots of physical pain and have bad insomnia. Any tips?

The best option, if you're not pressed for time, is w/d from one drug at a time, dude :) The zopiclone/BZD withdrawal is probably the one that will take the longest to deal with. With opioid w/d the worst should be over in a week or two. And if you can, gradually reducing your dose of mirtazepine rather than going cold turkey might help too.

You may have to go onto low dose clonazepam or something for a while to stabilise if you find you get too twitchy from the zop/BZD w/d.

other than that, keep smoking cannabis (if you like) and keep as busy as possible (physically and mentally) and you will eventually rebound when your body gets used to a normal chemical balance. also, take time to treat your body right (balanced diet, excercise, enriched environment, social activity, "hard" drug abstinence).

you'll make it. there is light at the end of the tunnel believe it or not

Have you gone from 10-15 zops a day to zero? That's potentially dangerous - the 'Z' drugs aren't as addictive as benzos, and the w/d syndrome isn't as intense, but morer recent research has shown they remain addictive. And 10-15 7.5 zops is roughly equal to 150mgs of diaz. CT from that dose seems pretty risky. I'd try and get supplies to taper if at all possible, maybe even switch to a comfortable dose of diazepam and taper from there. And mirtazipine has a withdrawal syndrome that's sometimes treated with benzos, so I really wouldn't go CT from both simultaneously.

Oxy's a bitch to get off of, but the withdrawal's just unpleasant, whereas benzo and anti-depressant w/d can be dangerous. I'd strongly suggest talking to your doc about tapering, maybe downgrading from oxy to hydro for a few weeks. In parts of Europe, they're starting to use time-release dihydrocodeine in place of methadone. I never came across DHC in the States, but I've used it to taper off of opiate habits, and it doesn't get you stuck on lifetime maintenance as methadone often does.

Hey guys, thanks a lot for the replies. i appriciate it! I should have clarified, I'm not going cold turkey off anything but oxy. I've done the taper thing with zop and i just finished my last little bit. I'm tapering from 30 mg remron and am currently on 15mg. I just started to feel it really hard today. Lots of anxiety, depression, random emotional spells and body aches. Feeling crazy! I've still got a long way to go but i didnt think it would be so hard at this stage...
