Okay well I topped one of my plants, and removed two side leaves from each of the plants to promote new growth. I went on vacation for 5 days and moved them to a lower light area for the duration of my trip. I just moved them back out now and killed a confirmed male. The two suspected females haven't really grown much and haven't grown anything new yet where I topped/removed leaves.

Anything I can do to help them get through this? I moved them to a higher light area of course.

I'm not even sure, I never observed it. But in the lower light area they are well concealed and are really impossible to find. Where they get light they are still sorta hidden but I'm trying to move them once my mom gets home because we just got a new puppy which may wander over there and she may find them lol.

you have to remove STEM, not a leaf, for pruning to be effective.

look for a node, preferably 3-5 nodes up from the dirt, and cut the stem about 1mm above the node.

im fairly sure that if you cut the stem right above the node, 2 lateral buds will shoot out. this is, of course, assuming your plants are from seed. they grow a bit different from clones.
