Over the winter break I spent many hours reading about a variety of chemicals, one of which I am very interested in studying more. I have no idea where I first read about it, but there is a chemical present in the essential oil of some plant that will cause a mild MDMA-like feeling if applied to the skin shortly before exercising.

I have no idea what the name of this compound is, but I do know that members of whichever forum I read this on had tried it with success.

AFAIK, the chemical itself was not active, but converted into some other active phenethylamine in vivo.

Does anyone have any clue what I am talking about? Help would be much appreciated!

No, it definitely is not safrole. Is there anywhere that lists the composition of essential oils? I remember it being a phenethylamine so I could narrow my search down to just a certain group of chemicals.

What you're describing sounds like some steroids that I saw being offered on the net a while back. They were topical preparations with the active ingredients suspended in a gel-like substance. That would lead me to believe that a great number of chemicals could theoretically be applied in a topical fashion (provided they were prepared in such a way). However, this certainly could not be the most effective form of introducing the substance in to the body.

The fact that you said that it is specifically applied before exercising does add fuel to that thought.

Perhaps it was simply some type of designer drug prepared in a similar way?

I heard something along these lines before, it's not steroids though, I wouldn't put to much stock in this whatever it is, but it could be interesting if it felt cool or boosted a roll a lil bit, definately sounds marketable.

This oil is very popular among the females at my gym in some of my better dreams.

Are you sure you're not confusing it with transdermal selegeline/PEA formulations patented by Gaspari and the like?

I have a distant memory of a trip-report involving an ayahuasca-like concoction that was compounded into a transdermal medium and applied to the pelvic area before sex. My memory is of it being blue. That's all I remember cuz this was in like 3rd grade, but I'm pretty sure it was purported to be non-fictitious. I wonder if anyone remembers anything like this. I'm pretty sure it was in National Geographic mag...

So it seems that such a compound does or could actually exist. Can someone who knows more chemistry than I suggest any compounds that may behave in this manner?

It exists in the sense that many drugs can be applied transdermally,

I think it's supposed to natural tho. like I said I have heard this b4 i think but i wouldn't suspect it's anything real

Have never heard anything like that but it reminds me of the topical Morphine Creams.
