Took Xanax first time and went out of body?

I took 2mg of xanax today at the beach for no good reason. I got really sleepy and when I got home I immediately went to bed but was still half awake. Then suddenly I felt as I was sleeping but I was still conscious and knew I was in my bed and everything. Then I tried some out of body or remote viewing tricks that I have read about. I focused on getting up or exiting through my forehead. I immediately started to feel tingling all over my body. At this point I knew what was going on and all of my previous attempts have ended right here when the tingling starts. I just get an adrenaline boost and wake up.

But with Xanax I could keep going. Then suddenly I was at my other home. Everything was bright but I could see every detail. I think I even had arms. I could walk around and move objects. At the same time I was very aware that I was still on my bed at another place and could even feel my body. I even opened one of my eyes just a little bit and saw my room I was currently at while at the same time exploring my old home. I could keep going. Then somehow it ended.

What was that? Was it remote viewing or just some kind of zombie sleep and the things I saw were just from my memory? Anyway, I did move one object to a certain place just to test if it really moved but later realized it was too ridiculous and never checked it after.

yea used to happen to me when i first tried oxy...basically like a sleeping dream while your awake...like when you wake up you catch your breath and wonder if it was real or not....

I would attribute it to sleep paralysis which more or less is where a person remains aware while the body shuts down for REM sleep. It's rare but possible with many sedating drugs.

i'm not sure what to call this exact experience, it's like a lucid dream but feels different, sometimes it becomes a dream but there's this moment of awareness of being outside of the body before the dream starts. I always get that tingling sensation, feels like a crazy body buzz. I have developed this trick where i flick my head and i can wake myself up, might be something to think about if you want to get out of the sleep paralysis.

I get this from opiates consistently

I have experienced this with opiates. There is no way to know whether it's just a lucid dream or if you are in fact seeing the real place. Personally I assumed it was just a lucid dream when it happened to me, I had no reason to believe my consciousness had actually left my body and travelled to a real place. While I don't think it's impossible, studies so far have have been inconclusive. Although there has been some evidence of people remotely viewing a place and reporting back details that cannot be explained otherwise.

Read more about out of body experiences on Wikipedia.

Another interesting link on the phenomenon.

I've had this from MDMA oddly, it's not really fun but i seem unaware while it's happening. It can be scary because things and people will warp out of reality randomly. As in, I was with this girl and I thought she was a guy I knew. I asked "where's Meagan jo?" and she said I an Meagan and her face warped back to reality as if I had just woken up. Other times i think I'm at work and start talking in French to everyone. Lololol I know... I saw this post and had to add something. Oh and it hasn't happened since I stopped dropping M. I do a lot of oxycodone and it hasn't happened so far.... Yet

Okay, I've done it again and the same thing happened, except now it's been happening several days after taking it as well. It's definitely sleep paralysis/lucid dreaming. I spent the whole day doing it. I could sleep but be aware of everything and imagine the craziest things. I was in my own sleep world. Subconscious is an amazing thing. I could replay exactly what I heard on the radio etc. This experience comes close to my acid trips in awesomeness.
