took 1.5 mg of subutex on saturday night, took about 1mg of subutex last night [at about 4.00pm], now I want to take some DHC tonight [I have about 200mg]. I've done the research, but everyone seems to be experienced users, discussing using high amounts of subutex and high amounts of much stronger opiates. I don't take opiates or opiate-like drugs that much - was taking some DHC before I took the subutex on Saturday, that's it in recent memory.

So, does anyone know how long I should need to wait for this 2.5mg of subutex to not be an issue? It's already been almost 24 hours since I last took the subutex. Thanks for any insights chaparoo's, and sorry if this is the wrong place, haven't been here for a while.

Firstly, check the Suboxone FAQ stickied in the OD forum. Secondly, at least 24 hours and recommended ~40 hours. Buprenorphine has a long half life (~32hr) and it has a strong affinity to opioid receptors, meaning that it competes with other opiates and, more than often, succeeds in binding to the receptor. You can technically use higher doses to overpower the suboxone but that means you're at a much higher risk of overdose. Besides, 200mg DHC is not enough to overpower Suboxone during its peak, unfortunately, as 1mg suboxone is approximated to 30mg of morphine, or ~300-250mg DHC. The reason why you most likely didn't get an effective high from suboxone, incase you're wondering, is because it's only a partial opiate agonist - meaning that its effects are mostly respiratory and analgesic but not quite euphoric.

Hope that helped,
