Hello,
We just came into possession of an unknown substance labelled like this and having this structure:
I'm not very good at chemistry, but I know there are some exceptional organic chemists around here, so any help would be appreciated. I help out around a research lab and would like to ask whether somebody recognizes it, or can guess what we're dealing with here - perhaps effects from the name, structure, photo?
It's basically odourless, completely white (well, transparent) and it's all long thin crystals (much like pure monosodium glutamate). Taste slightly bitter, short-lived and when tiny amount is tasted, it leaves the tongue and inner lips a little numb.
TIA for helping with this conundrum.
